Pacific Eye Care Optometry

Unfortunately this place hasn't been the same ever since Dr. Allison Zaum retired. The new Dr. Matthew Barnes is always in a rush and doesn't take the time to ask questions or understand more about your concerns. He just recommended some eyedrops without explaining his thought process. It feels very dismissive and haphazard which is not what I expect from quality healthcare. I saw him twice and got rushed out very quickly both times - as in 5 minutes of face time at most. It is especially weird because the office was not particularly busy either time. I was either the only patient or one of two. I had some poor interactions with the other staff too. One person did not wash his hands before taking my contacts out of the box and handing it to me. One person was clearly very new and poked me in the eye several times while failing to measure my eye pressure. I know it was inexperience because eventually she had to call over someone else who got it first try. On my last visit, they just completely forgot to dilate my eyes even though we talked about it. I did not even bother reminding them because I decided I was done with this place.

I had a wonderful experience with Pacific Eye Care Optometry in Mountain View! Dr. Tran was really knowledgeable and informative throughout my appointment and super personable. I loved my experience here. The staff at the front desk and running my eye tests were wonderful and helpful as well. They also provided me with information on what my insurance covered and my new prescription. I highly recommend this place!

I went to see Dr. Tran to get my vision prescription updated, and I was so impressed by the office's new technology. During the visit, Dr. Tran also discovered that I have dry eye and he took the time to explain the condition to me in full detail so I finally understood the root cause. He went over exactly which specific OTC drops I should buy to actually help my eyes, and he even offered treatment options to help cure the issue long-term instead of just having me rely on drops forever.

I started coming here when the practice was run by Dr. Zaum. Everyone here, from the optometrists to receptionists, are incredibly kind. The prescription I’ve received is always accurate from the get-go.

First time here ! Roxanne took care of my initial eye exams - they went smoothly. She was patient and very thorough when it came down to pricing breakdown. I was then seen by Dr. Tran for the rest of the appointment. He was very personable and extremely helpful. He did not rush through the process and even made efforts to explain my photos in detail. I managed to get my prescription and choose my glasses all within the hour. I highly recommend!
