On 5/08/2026, I called the office and left a voicemail requesting to schedule an appointment. I received a callback on 5/11/2026 at 9:28 a.m., and the receptionist informed me that Dr. Baker was unavailable for the next two weeks. She stated that she could scheduled me for the next available appointment, which I was told was on Friday, 5/29 at 9:20 am. When I arrived for my appointment today, I was told there was no appointment scheduled for me and that I could not be seen. Unfortunately for me, it seems the person I spoke with on 5/11 either failed to schedule the appointment. It is incredibly frustrating to spend almost two weeks waiting for an appointment that was never properly scheduled. I took time away from work and traveled to the office, only to arrive and be told there was no record of my appointment. Instead of acknowledging a possible scheduling error or offering an apology, the front desk staff implied that I was responsible for showing up without an appointment because I did not have a text confirmation. I have been a patient at this office for almost 20 years and have always scheduled appointments by phone. In the past, I have never consistently received text confirmations for appointments. After reviewing my emails and text messages, I only found general office notifications regarding closures and holidays or surveys after a visit. Ironically, after leaving the office upset today, I suddenly began receiving appointment reminders and text updates that I had never previously received. To make matters even more confusing, when I called this afternoon to cancel the appointment I had made in person today, I was informed that I actually had two appointments scheduled for next week. One on Wednesday and another on Friday. This leads me to believe that the receptionist who contacted me on 5/11 may have scheduled or provided the incorrect appointment date from the beginning. Also, when I rescheduled the appointment in person, there was never any mention of an appointment scheduled for the following Friday. This entire experience was extremely inconvenient and frustrating. During a previous visit last year, I also experienced an unusually long wait time before being seen. While everyone was apologetic at that time, I am becoming increasingly concerned about the decline in service and organization over the past few years. I have always valued the care Dr. Baker provides and would genuinely like to continue as a patient. I want to clarify that the bad rating is not reflection of my doctor, technicians or other staff, my issue is specifically with the front desk staff and a problem with scheduling and overall communication. After this incident, I have to reconsider if I would return as a patient. Update 6/3: The practice director contacted me, and I very much appreciate their communication and sincere apology. They assured me that the issues I experienced would be addressed and also offered to personally assist with scheduling should I choose to make an appointment in the future. My hope is that if I do return, the front desk and office staff will be more organized and accommodating when concerns or issues arise. I appreciate the effort made to follow up and address my experience from the practice director.

Had an appointment for a routine eye exam. Waited 25 minutes past my appointment time. I was never acknowledged by staff when I signed in or thereafter. Lots of chatter between office staff. I asked how much longer and girl at desk said she did not know. Others with appointment taken back. Poorly run office and very very unfriendly. I will find another doctor as this place does not care about patients and their time.

I had a very neutral experience and was originally going to give 3 stars. Dropping it down to 2 for headache with ordering contact lenses (see below). In summary: Paragon is inattentive. I requested an appointment online and never heard from anyone. After 2 weeks, I called and left a message requesting an afternoon appointment. They did call me back, and they offered a morning appointment (not a big deal, but it tells me they didn't listen well to my message). The front desk, while very kind, asked me to fill out paperwork I had already completed. The tech never made eye contact, and Dr. Fontenot disappeared while I was putting in contacts without saying goodbye. She also did not address any of the concerns the tech asked me about and recorded. They got me in and out in 30 minutes, but had previously told me to allot an hour and a half for a new patient appointment, and I had hoped for a little more time. I got a new contact lens prescription and ordered online through my insurance. The prescription was written for Acuvue Vita with a BC of 8.6. Acuvue Vita only comes in a BC of 8.4 and 8.8 (does Dr. Fontenot perhaps not know this?). It caused a delay in ordering contacts and I had to call Paragon to request them to fix it. I left a message and also requested they call me back to confirm. They must have updated the prescription because my contact lens order was validated... but they never called me back. So, did I get an exam and new prescriptions? Yes. Did I get good enough personable care to make me feel confident to return? No.

After going to a large ophthalmology practice in downtown Fort Worth for 12 years, I decided to find an ophthalmologist who was closer to me in Mansfield. The doctor who had treated me for 10 years in Fort Worth had moved to start her practice further north in Keller. The new road construction around 820 and I-20 made driving more time-consuming. I chose Paragon Eye Associates because my wife had an excellent experience. And the drive was only seven minutes. Compared to the practice in Fort Worth, everything in Paragon looked new and modern. While the parking lot and waiting room in Fort Worth were always full, Paragon was mostly empty. Perhaps because the practice in Fort Worth was old. A decade from now, Mansfield could get as busy. On my first visit, the service desk gave me forms so I could have my records transferred from Fort Worth. I also scheduled my first appointment. On my first appointment, the technician took thorough measurements of my eyes. I noticed that the equipment looked newer than the ones used on me for the last 12 years. That made sense. Paragon is a much newer practice. I’m sure it will take time to pay off the investment in equipment. Yet, technology can change dramatically in 12 years. How old are your phones and computers? Dr. Alberti was younger than most of the eye doctors I had seen in Fort Worth. He seems very up-to-date on the medical knowledge of the eye. He asked why a certain procedure to help with my glaucoma was not done when I had cataract surgery. I didn’t know. He said that the technology was relatively new but was available at the time I had my surgery. He also noticed that some small fragments of cataracts were not removed. The treatment for my minor glaucoma is eye drops. I needed a refill from an ophthalmologist. My pharmacy would not refill prescriptions from my general practitioner. Dr. Alberti said that a newer eye drop was better. It’s thicker and stays on longer. He gave me a prescription for that. I picked it up an hour after the visit. He also said that I should use the eye drops twice a day, instead of just once a day, because the concentration gets diluted over time. Overall, I was pleased with the experience. Paragon was professional and efficient. The drive and parking was a breeze. I’m glad my wife recommended them. No wonder they have a 4.8-star rating.

I have been going here for over a year now and I have to say that this is the best eye care center I have ever encountered. The entire staff is so kind and caring. Dr Ann Fontenot is incredible with her patients. She explained everything throughly and did a very comprehensive exam about some concerns I had with my vision. I know I am in good hands and feel very confident I am getting the best care possible. Highly recommend this practice!
