⭐️ 1 STAR — Extremely Disappointed Personally, after what I experienced, I would not recommend this location to people of color. I’ve been a Pearle Vision customer for almost a year and have always had good experiences, but yesterday, August 31st, was completely different. It was my first time dealing with the manager, Chris, and from the beginning, her attitude felt cold, dismissive, and condescending. I came in with basic questions about my contacts, eye exam, glasses, and insurance. At one point, she asked whether I wanted to go with “us or them.” I said “you guys” and briefly pointed in her direction. I was nowhere near her face, and it was not threatening or aggressive. She simply said, “Don’t point,” and laughed. I was genuinely confused and asked what I had done wrong, but she wouldn’t explain. What I don’t understand is why she couldn’t have simply explained it to me when I asked. Instead, later as I was leaving, she said my pointing was “a little aggressive.” I would have understood and corrected myself if she had just explained it in the moment. The whole interaction made me feel like she was more interested in telling me what I couldn’t do than actually helping me. Things eventually escalated to her repeatedly telling me to leave and threatening to call the police. I asked her why and what valid reason she had to call the police. Once again, just like when I asked what I had done wrong by pointing, she had nothing to say or explain. I left feeling extremely disrespected and like I was being treated differently because of my race. I hope someone higher up takes this seriously, because everyone should feel welcomed and respected when they walk into a business, especially when they are spending their money there.

I loved both experiences with providers at this location. Last year, I had some frustrations with my glasses. The doctor listened and adjusted the distance prescription. When I said that sometimes I take off my glasses for sustained computer work or immediately when I get home for the day, he told me to continue rather than buying a pair of readers or bifocals. If less was helping, do less. This year, I scheduled an appointment for my kiddo. I saw that it would be a different provider and took the slot anyway. She listened to his statements about near vision. At the end of the exam, she said it wasn't corneal/eye shape but muscle issues. She didn't recommend glasses but offered a referral to vision therapy at an independent shop. I can feel wary around the medical profession, because I don't understand insurance well. To have two different providers at this location both listen to what the actual issues were without trying to sell the front half of the shop has been so fabulous. I wholeheartedly recommend this location!

The optometrist was great but the optician said their optical shop only offers digital progressives with a $258 up charge over my insurance. My insurance only covers standard progressives and he said nobody sells those anymore. My current glasses from Pearle vision are standard progressives and they work fine, the prescription just needs a minor update. So I had to opt for lined bifocals. I don’t understand how a standalone optometry practice with an optical shop would not offer a basic service like standard progressives.

I had a very disappointing experience with this eye care company, and unfortunately the biggest issue seems to be poor management. The leadership team (Kris) appears disorganized, unprofessional, and lacking basic respect for both staff and patients. It was clear from my visit that employees are not supported and are often treated poorly, which creates a tense and unwelcoming environment. When management struggles with communication and professionalism, it directly impacts the quality of care and overall experience. I would not recommend this office until significant improvements are made in how the business is run and how employees are treated.

Dr. Shultz was great and the store looks very nice. The reception girl was rude all 3 interactions with her and sneakily tried to get me to pay extra. Then I waited about 25 minutes to just pick up my glasses which weren’t the right prescription 🙃
