My 12 year old daughter has been a patient of pediatric opthalmology consultants since she was 2 months old and mostly has seen Dr. Kanterman as far back as I can remember anway. She has been to both offices (back when there was one in Boca which I miss) anyway, Dr. Kanterman is a great Dr. He is very friendly and professional. He performed strabismus surgery on my daughter with nystagmus when she was 5 years old - this surgery went so well, and helped my daughter tremendously in life. We continue to see Dr. Kanterman every year still and he always gets to us quickly and approaches us professionally but also in a caring way that puts my daughter at ease it's one of the few Dr offices she is comfortable going to. They always remember her and just that extra effort in remembering her helps put her at ease. She hates the drops, always has... But the way they have handled her complete melt downs when it came to the drops over the years was always patient and professional which over time has helped calm her nerves when it came to doing the drops. Luckily as she has gotten older she handles the drops a lot better now. But with my other child I see the differance in how the optometrist he sees handles the drops compared to the way this office does and they have a much nicer and calming approach. My sons Dr. made him feel like crap for being nervous about the drops I actually never brought him back to that office again but that's another story for a differant Dr. There really is not a thing I can say that is negative about this office. Maybe the waiting room could be a little brighter, but other than the office staff are just fine, and assistant we see right before the Dr is great also I wish I knew her name because she is amazing and always remembers us as well... I am so thankful to Dr. Kanterman for what he has done for my daughter over the years! He is a great Opthamologist extremly Kind, knowledgable, patient and great at dealing with kids.
I want to say how unprofessional this office is they don't take consideration in to mind. How hard it could be, especially on a toddler in general, or kids in general Don't ask their background medical before anything of what the child has or any concerns or any of that type of sort my child had to be. Held down forcibly with more restraint that was passed a professional way and it made my child really irritable and agitated 10x more and the professional team was making accusations and trying to dignose what my child may be have and instead of asking for medical records or understanding of the child or knowing how to better work with child or children in general, of course, especially overwhelmed being overwhelmed and experiencing something for the first time . I was very disappointed in the care team and how they were not prepared to work with kids who are especially are overwhelmed and have anxiety. Especially the fact of being held down would make any child pacifically, that doesn't want to be held down very agitated especially if its more forcefully then what they are allowed to. Everyone has different experiences but in opinion and advice this isnt the place for every child especially there first time.
I've been coming here for over a year and I absolutely love it here. Very professional and knowledgeable staff. Dr. Tehlla Steiner is a love, great manners, demeanor and knows her stuff, treats the kids and parents with love and respect. A true gentle caring soul. I'm not sure why the low ratings but I can assure you this is the place to take your kids for their eye care. This is coming from a retired military medical professional and I can tell you they are top notch!
Took my daughter to de Miller for a second opinion as she’s been having teary eyes for years and couldn’t find out what it was. In 5 minutes dr Miller found the cause! I’d give them 100 stars if I could. Thank you Dr Miller!!
