I simply love the frames that I purchased here many, many years ago. Over time, the frames naturally stretch a bit and eventually became a bit too large for my face. Dr. Perkins adjusted them, and they once again fit like the day I bought them! Above-and-beyond excellent service!
After my last optometrist experience, my experience at Perkins was like night and day. Dr. Perkins is honestly the type of doctor I wish I had in every field of medicine. Whereas prior doctors of mine would dismiss my concerns and questions - including one I went to in Mt Pleasant - Dr. Perkins talked me through each of them. Not only that, but the way he examined my eyes during the process and spoke out loud, and explained things really helped me connect with the process. Furthermore, and more impressively IMO, Dr. Perkins helped me FINALLY figure out how to get contacts in and out of my eyeballs, despite having 'narrow eyes'. The other office I went to in Mt. Pleasant was impatient with me, and gave me virtually zero guidance (I'm pretty sure an intern was helping me). Dr. Perkins gave me strategies, showed me how *he* inserted and removed his *own* contacts. I got my contacts in on my first visit, surprising myself. When I came back for my second visit for the contacts, one of his workers actually came back (knowing that I was still struggling to remove mine) and showed me her own unique process of taking her contacts out. I ended up getting the contacts out, and being able to take contacts home on my 2nd visit. All in all, really happy with my visits and the care Dr. Perkins and his team provide. Wish all medical experiences were as good as these ones!
I've been a patient of Dr. Perkins for about two years. He and his staff have been super friendly and very knowledgeable each time I've visited. I've only gotten contact lenses, not glasses, but I've been really happy with the new lenses Dr. Perkins put me on. They've been great for my eyes. And every time I come in for a refill, it's really easy and the staff is super nice. Also, not that I particularly care a lot about this kind of thing, but the office is very modern and nicely decorated. If you do have to wait here, you'll feel very comfortable. I'm really glad there's a place like this in my neighborhood.
I bought a pair of glasses here in 2016 and they're still going strong today. Dr. Perkins personally took the time to help me pick out the perfect frames for my specific needs. The lenses I ordered from them still have their anti-blue light and anti-scratch coating. This is pretty great since the last pair I bought from another store had lense coating that was just peeling off. I've recently lost one of the nose pieces on my glasses and emailed Dr. Perkins to ask for a spare. He and his staff were super quick in mailing me a new set (I currently live in the UK). Absolutely amazing customer service! If I ever move back to Charleston, I'll definitely be returning to this business.
