We’ve only had positive experiences with the facility and staff at Premiere Eye care and surgery. My 5 year old was advised to see an ophthalmologist and Dr. Leonard came highly recommended. I absolutely see why! The front desk is always welcoming. Melissa scheduled her surgery and kept everything so organized. Dr. Leonard is not only the best in her field, she’s incredible with children and so knowledgeable in a way that eases any concerns as a parent. Every step of her procedure was handled expertly with care!

### Very Disappointing and Unprofessional Service We have been seeing the doctors at this eye care practice for several years for our kids, and I want to make it clear that the doctors have always been excellent. They are caring, professional, and we have been very happy with the eye care our child has received from them. Unfortunately, our recent experience with the optical department has been extremely disappointing and frustrating, especially given that this was my child’s first MiSight order and the treatment is time-sensitive. The first issue occurred after we placed the initial MiSight trial order. We were told that the optical department would contact us when the lenses were ready. They later claimed that they had called and left a voicemail, but I never received any call or voicemail. As a result, we waited and waited and ultimately lost nearly an entire month of my child’s summer without the prescribed lenses. After we finally picked up the trial lenses and the doctor placed the next order, I specifically emphasized multiple times that we needed the order to be processed and that I was waiting for their call. The staff member confirmed that our phone number was correct and told me that someone would contact me soon. I waited from August 11 until August 28 and heard nothing. Only after I repeatedly called to follow up was I told that they had supposedly called and left another voicemail, asking me to pay the bill before they could place the order, and that it would then take another two weeks for the order to arrive. Again, I received no call and no voicemail. This resulted in another significant delay, and by the time we were able to move forward, school had already started and my child had gone more than a month without the prescribed lenses. What was most disappointing was not only the repeated communication failures, but also the attitude when I explained that my child was without her contact lenses and that this was interfering with her treatment. Instead of acknowledging the inconvenience or apologizing for the delay, I was told, essentially, “Doesn’t she still have glasses?” Of course she has glasses. That completely misses the point. We chose MiSight as part of her myopia-management treatment, and the issue was that repeated failures to communicate and process the order caused an unnecessary interruption in that treatment. Mistakes can happen, but what matters is how a business handles them. In this case, there was no meaningful apology, no sense of urgency, and no acknowledgment of the fact that their lack of communication had caused weeks of unnecessary delay. For a service involving children’s vision care, I expected much better communication, accountability, and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.
I am a long time Premier patient. Now my entire family goes!! Every single Dr I have seen has been both knowledgeable and friendly!! The front staff greet us and help with any questions. I have also dealt with the billing department and I appreciate their help understanding my bill!! Dessy is always so cheerful, she is a standout!!
I accompanied my mom to her appointment here she usually comes alone, but since she was having an eye procedure and needed a ride afterward, I went with her. I’m so glad I did, because I got to see firsthand how efficient, kind, and helpful everyone is. From the front desk to the exit, every staff member was welcoming and organized. The phlebotomists and eye technicians were incredibly supportive, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and peaceful. I also noticed that everyone practiced hand hygiene perfectly, which really stood out. Dr. Kiernan was amazing! He is extremely informative, easy to talk to, and patient. He took his time answering all of my mom’s questions and helped ease every concern she had. Overall, an excellent experience. I would absolutely come here myself when I need eye care.
They used to be a solid practice when I started visiting probably 8 years ago. The Ophthalmologist who I used to see left the practice who I really liked due to health reasons, and they sent me to a new one for an appointment and it was fine. However, after one appointment I as informed that she left as well and so they sent me to some new graduate, Dr Saniya merchant, as she was the only one who took VSP insurance. When I saw her she was very rude and was more about rushing me out than evaluating me as I have a condition in my eye that they usually spend 30 minutes evaluating to see if it changed. Regardless, when I checked out after only 20 mins, they asked if I wanted to book my annual follow up, but get this, Dr. Merchant is now leaving the practice and she wasn't even there a year. Clearly they have a challenge of holding onto their doctors and it seems like the practice has a poor culture that no one wants to stay. The support staff, meaning the ladies who take you back, do the initial vision assessment, etc are very nice. Outside of that, no one wants to be there and so I will take my business elsewhere.
