I had a great experience at Primary Eye Care. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to care. I have very high astigmatism in both eyes, and eye exams have often felt rushed. At my previous appointment elsewhere, I was given a prescription that only corrected my vision to 20/50. I couldn’t see well enough with it and decided not to fill it. I decided to give Primary Eye Care a chance, and I’m really glad I did. Even though they were busy, I was seen faster than I expected. After the initial testing, I was surprised to find that part of the exam was done with an iPad and a telehealth doctor. I wasn’t expecting that and was honestly a little skeptical at first, but the results completely changed my opinion. They gave me the best glasses prescription I’ve ever had, correcting my vision to 20/25. The difference compared to my previous prescription has been huge. On top of that, I thought I was going to be paying completely out of pocket. The staff took the time to double-check my insurance, found that part of my exam was covered by my medical insurance, and even helped me get an additional discount. They ended up saving me a couple hundred dollars that I otherwise would have paid. I left impressed not only with the quality of my exam but also with how knowledgeable, honest, and helpful everyone was. I’d definitely recommend Primary Eye Care, especially if you’ve had trouble getting the right prescription elsewhere.

Update: Still don't have my contacts. Waited til the end of the week like they said and no one has called me about my contacts. It has officially been a month since my initial "order" was placed. Don't go here. They "ordered" my hard contacts and turns out they never did. First, it was the manager's fault then the techs fault, then after I talked to the Manager it was the Dr's fault, they usually order them. Obviously no one knows what the other person is doing. Also, I called 3 times in a week inquiring about my order with no call backs or anyone knowing what was going on. Staff has no idea how to follow through or problem solve when a customer calls about a problem. It wasn't until I called the following week that I finally got answers. (Because, I called multiple times in one day) A month after the initial "order" I should finally have my contacts.

This was my first time at Primary EyeCare Centers - Edgebrook and only my second eye exam of my adult life. I had no issue getting an appointment right away that worked for my schedule. I printed the new patient paperwork at home and had it filled out when I arrived for my appointment which seemed to streamline the process. The entire staff made me feel welcome and I was extremely pleased with the service I received and the quality of my glasses. I also had no insurance and paid out of pocket and I did not feel any type of pressure when picking out my new glasses. I would definitely recommend them.

The appointment itself went very well, they seemed to look at more than the average Walmart doctor. However, when I was scheduling the appointment for both glasses and contacts. I was told co pay would be between $15-$20 with my insurance. Ended up having to reschedule and got a very misleading text message saying my appointment was for an hour before what I rescheduled too and that the co pay was now between $15-$50. Still not bad but I had called again to confirm everything just in case and repeated the appointment was for BOTH glasses and contacts. They confirmed AGAIN the price would be between $15-$20 and my appointment was actually scheduled at the correct time. No big deal. After seeing the doctor i sat down with one of the ladies who get you your script and everything you need to go, it seemed like every question I asked she needed to go ask someone for help, which I understand if your new and need a little help- but clearly she wasn’t ready to be on her own and it had me sitting there for almost an hour waiting for answers every time I asked about something. Whole time she was looking at the wrong patient. Just seemed very unorganized. Then finally we’re finishing up.. bam. Suddenly it’s $110 and I walked out without my contact script wasting over an hour and a half after being told the price for both was $15-$20 numerous times when it in fact was not. Moral of the story, just stick with your basic Walmart doctor. At least they provide honest pricing.

I am very disappointed in Primary EyeCare. My appointment was for 2:20PM. I was not taken back to the exam room until 3:00PM. I scheduled my appointment for 2:20 so I would have enough time to get my daughter from her bus stop. I expressed to the young lady that did my eye exam and retina screening, I was upset. And that I get sometimes business run behind schedule but 40 mins. People who came in after me got taken back before me. And none of the front desk ladies said anything to me that they were behind. I had to leave the appointment to get my daughter and told them I will be back to pay. I won’t be going back in the future.
