I was primarily disappointed in Dr. Fanous’ clinical treatment. He was referred to me because of my high eye pressure and pending glaucoma. Dr. Fanous seemingly had little time for interactions or questions. For me, that alone was dissatisfying because I have a need for basic information, at minimum. Over a brief period, he prescribed five eye drops to be taken daily, two once a day, and three twice a day--eight total drops a day. I questioned the need to take that many drops because the vision in my left eye had eventually become compromised, and extremely red as well. That many drops seemed excessive. Dr. Fanous insisted that I needed to continue to take the drops. In early April, my eyes became teary and irritated, the area around my eyes were puffy, and my left eyelid was visibly swollen. In a subsequent visit to Dr. Fanous, he seemingly failed to notice those changes. I made another appointment to specifically address my eye issues. He quickly assumed I had an eye infection and prescribed antibiotic drops four times a day, and an antibiotic ointment to place in my eyes twice a day for 10 days. After the 10 days, I returned to Dr. Fanous, showing very little change in my eyes. He then prescribed a combined antibiotic and steroid ointment. That ointment had little effect as well. I decided to go to UF Eye Center. There, I saw a young resident who within five minutes determined that I did not have an eye infection, but instead I was having allergic reactions to one or more of the eye drops I was prescribed. The attending physician took me off three of the eye drops, and the appearance of my eyes are returning back to normal, and my vision has improved. My major concern with Dr. Fanous was the assumption I had an eye infection without gathering the needed evidence and then proceeding to prescribe unneeded drugs when no infection existed. Another concern was the prescription of five drops although the initial two significantly reduced my eye pressure while one of the three prescriptions that followed actually caused a severe allergic reaction.

2023 Busy place. Always greeted with smiles. Great staff, some local students working others learning on the job. Very pleasant waiting room. Its always busy and you'll have to be patient because you will be waiting, being a Subspecialist doc is in high demand, Doctor is extremely qualified in his field of Ophthalmology. highly knowledgeable, experienced, top notch, professor. Staff is efficient and try to move patients along as quickly as they can. I feel like I am in good hands with this team of professionals. I think it's worth the wait. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 5 years mom was a patient now myself 3 years. Two locations. Gainesville and Chiefland.

Dr. Fanous is a wonderful , competent doctor. I feel very thankful to have been referred to his practice. He listens to any/ all concerns, treats you accordingly and provides easy to understand instructions for patients to follow in order to help their own condition. I highly recommend this practice to anyone who wants to feel confident in their treatment plan.

This business deserves 5 stars from me. Everything was fantastic, professional, and friendly. I think Dr Fanous is a very good person who never seems to miss an opportunity to explain what he is doing to his staff. I personally find that to be a sign of exceptional character. The staff I interacted with was very friendly and competent. Everybody was joking around and having a good time. A slight negative issue (for which the young fellow I was working with apologized) was my time in the waiting room was bit long.

Dr Endicotts nurse that was to assist with my laser procedure was very rude to me. I told her I'm a nurse and would never speak to a patient like that. She replied"good for u". Dr Endicott entered the room and proceeded to accuse me of calling his "staff" the b word, which I explained that I never said that. He told me he would have to go and calm down before doing my procedure because"you don't want me touching your eye the way I'm feeling right now, believe me". He never let me speak and explain her actions and words. I left the building and won't be back. Btw a years and a half ago he did my one eye. And then I asked if this procedure hurt, he and the same rude nurse said to me" only the older ppl whine and cry about it, but it doesn't even hurt". I didn't like that response at all
