I had a very disappointing experience at Dr. Ted Brink’s office. I felt like I was misled about the cost of my visit. Before my appointment, the office had both my vision insurance and my health insurance information. During the exam, I was asked if I wanted my pupils dilated or to use a different imaging technology instead. I was told that the imaging option would cost $35. Since I wanted to avoid having my eyes dilated and be able to drive home right away, I agreed to pay the $35. After the exam, the doctor gave me my eyeglass prescription. However, when I went to the front desk to check out, I was told I owed $288. I questioned the charge because I had only been told about the $35 fee. The staff explained that my visit had been billed as a medical appointment rather than a routine vision exam. I am very disappointed because this was never clearly explained to me before the exam or before any additional services were provided. If I had known the total cost in advance, I would have been able to make an informed decision. I left feeling blindsided and ripped off. I hope the office improves its communication about billing and insurance coverage so future patients know what to expect before receiving treatment.
My husband and I both made appointments with Dr. Ted Brink and Assoc. for an annual eye exam. The main reason we chose them is because they were affiliated with Lenscrafters, and we get a substantial discount from them through AARP. That discount does NOT include the eye exam! Dr. Brink and Assoc are a completely separate entity with different insurance requirements. That said, we were well satisfied with the care we received from Dr. Rubin and felt that the cost was reasonable. My husband even had to go back because his prescription wasn't correct and his new glasses were giving him blurred vision. Dr. Rubin corrected the prescription and there was no additional charge. The staff were all terrific and they have all the latest state-of-the-art equipment.
I went for an eye exam to get a prescription for glasses. The eye exam was ok and I got the glasses. The next year they emailed me a number of times that they made me an appt, that I never asked for, and then that I had missed my appt and they made me another. I tried calling and emailing them to stop contacting me, but nothing worked. I just got another email, and when I called the number it gave, the person that answered said she could not do anything to stop it. I feel harrassed, and I would never, ever reccommend them to anyone.
My appointment was for 1 pm, but I got there early as my wife had an appointment before I did. They took me in early. DR Yaidy Exposito was amazing i'm very professional. My eye exam was quick. The staff there made me feel relaxed and at ease. They have definitely improved service wise since my last exam.A couple years
