If you hope to be in good hands, especially when it comes to your eye health, then I cannot recommend Dr. Soekampto and her staff enough! It has been such a positive experience to be her patient! I had a Vitrectomy recently and the result is life changing! The procedure is quick and I only had a couple of days of very mild discomfort. Didn't even need a Tylenol. I'm actually looking forward to having surgery on the other eye in a couple of weeks, realizing that I should have done this year's ago when the results are this wonderful! I can see clearly now!

Great doctors but terrible office management. Prior authorization was needed for my eye injection medication. The application was not filed with my insurance until 3 weeks after my first appointment and only allowed for a one week approval time before my next appointment. I had to call 3 times to get this information. They do not make calls to patients. They apparently have a large of number of patients. This is evident in the long wait time when you are at the office for an appointment. Today on the phone I was told the delay in my prior authorization was delayed because “We have thousands of patients and they get to it when they can”
Wow so impressed with this office! Dad is here visiting from Michigan. They took care of dad like he was their dad! Dr Petrash was top notch! Knowledgeable, professional, courteous. The staff was very helpful with getting the right info for out of state insurance. Highly recommend!
I tried calling this 2 days in a row. Had to leave a callback number both times. Never got a callback. Tried scheduling via their website. Someone actually called me back within an hour. Said they needed med records from my eye exam faxed to them. Called the exam office immediately on hanging up. By 3:30 the next day, I still had not heard anything back. Tried calling and had to leave another message. Finally called Opthalmology Associates. They answered and scheduled immediately. Don't waste your time with these people.
I was referred here for a closer exam of my retina. It was a quick process of examining and photographing both eyes—very professional. The doctor said I needed a laser treatment for a small repair. The doctor had his very nice assistant apply drops to my eye and had me wait less than five minutes in the waiting area. I was then escorted to a room where the laser procedure took less than five minutes. I checked out at the front desk after making a follow up appointment. I arrived for the follow up and checked in. I was informed I had a balance of over $600, not including my regular co-pay. I was surprised, as not one staff member mentioned any charges before the procedure, nor had anyone contacted me since the last appointment. It seems the $600+ was my remaining balance for the procedure after insurance paid out. My extreme annoyance is not necessarily the cost . . . rather the failure of any staff member to present me with the information of the cost before whisking me through it. I do not like surprises, especially when it comes to finances. I asked for an itemized bill and to have someone from Billing contact me the next day after 10am. Strangely enough, they called me in the middle of my follow up exam, so I couldn’t answer. Overall, the procedure went well. Unfortunately, it’s my opinion that their administrative process lacks clarity and transparency. No specialist should perform a procedure (especially when they’re that expensive) before disclosing the cost to the patient. I will not be returning. They’re likely not going to be phased by this, as the doctor is supposedly retiring in a few months anyway.
