My experience at Retina Grupo Florida was very disappointing. My moms appointment was scheduled for 9:00 a.m. We arrived on time and completed all paperwork by 9:15 a.m., yet we waited approximately an hour to be seen, while other patients who arrived after us were called in first. The appointment was for my mother, who has a serious medical history involving retinal detachment and multiple prior eye surgeries. We understand that detailed questions and diagnostic tests are necessary, and she did undergo several exams and imaging procedures at the facility. However, when the doctor finally came in, his attitude felt dismissive and lacking empathy. After briefly reviewing her eyes and asking about her surgical history, we were simply told that everything was “fine” and that a report would be sent to her referring physician. No clear explanation was provided, and our concerns were not meaningfully addressed especially considering that my mother continues to experience worsening symptoms. Given her complex history, we expected a more thorough discussion and guidance. We left feeling confused, unheard, and without clear answers. When it comes to retinal health and serious eye conditions, communication and compassion are essential. Unfortunately, this was not a positive experience, and I would not recommend this facility to anyone seeking careful evaluation and patient-centered care for retinal issues.
