I went in a some time ago hoping to get one contact so that I could read up close, since my distance vision is perfect and I was starting to need reading glasses. Dr prescribed the contact, taught me to wear it, and I left hoping my brain would adjust to one contact. Unfortunately, it didn't despite my best efforts over a couple of months. I returned asking for help thinking maybe the prescription was off. I was told that monovision was the only option unless I wanted bifocal contacts. I didn't. Now, having seen another doctor I've learned a lot more. Monovision or bifocals are not the only options - there's also multifocal. I also learned that determining one's dominant eye is important and takes about 30 seconds to test for. Most people's dominant eye is the same as their dominant hand, but for me, it's the opposite. Clearly, he made an assumption that my dominant eye is my right eye like my hand. So he prescribed the contact for the wrong eye. He didn't determine my dominant eye from the beginning. One would have thought upon my return that he would have tested it at that point, but he didn't. I don't understand why he didn't determine which eye is my dominant eye. I also don't understand how an eye dr wouldn't know other options for close up reading. Does he really not know, or just not care? Has he not kept up with CEUs? Does he choose not to refer when something is out of his realm of knowledge? I don't have any answers, except that I won't return to this practice.

I have been an established patient of Dr Tabeling for years, atleast 10 years. He has always taken care of me for contacts, glass eye exams and emergency appointment when my Doberman scratched my eye. When I had insurance and when I don't, I get a fast appointment usually within a day of calling. We talk about new things in life and laugh with each other. I DREAD the day he retires!!
I do not recommend going here. If you’re able to wait you can go to Costco for the same price. I had some concerns about my eyes and the doctor wasn’t thorough at all. He dilated my eyes and checked them immediately. When I went to previous eye doctors they would always have me wait 15-30 minutes before doing the exam. I felt rushed and that he wasn’t considering my concerns. Please don’t waste your time or money. I felt like he rushed to get me out so he could get to the next person waiting.
I don't know why it is so hard to get a hold of someone that work here I have left a message with my phone number and have never get a call back at this point I will be finding somewhere else to get my eye exam at and this place has really gone downhill
I sent my 18 year old daughter in by herself to get an exam for glasses only. It was supposed to be around $80. She specifically told them she was only there to see if her prescription changed (which it hadn't) and that she didn't need contacts. When she got home, I realized that she was charged $150. I called and found out that it was because they "fitted" her for contacts, even though she doesn't need any. I tried to call and was basically told that I'm stuck paying for it even though it wasn't something we needed.
