Sam’s club optical is AMAZING!! Gary and Melissa are top notch!!! However their ophthalmologist Dr Moore is give less than a 1 star. My son was born premature at 1lb 2oz and had ROP ( too many blood vessels in the eye) pd extra for the scan which insurances don’t cover and he said he was perfect. Didn’t even need glasses. Fast forward a few month when he entered school they recommended an eye exam. Not only does he need glasses, his right eye is worse than the left. So now we are dealing with the ROP he was first diagnosed with at UMPC where they almost had to do laser surgery. Glasses ordered and visits every other month to watch progression. Do not waste your time or money seeing Dr Moore. Nightmare starting again knowing my kid could lose his eye sight. Thank God our insurance changed and he was not on formulary so we saw another ophthalmologist

My husband went to the Charleston, WV location on 9/17/2020 for an eye appointment, which was scheduled about a week in advance. At the time of scheduling they mentioned that the appointment would be $99, and that their doctor was not yet set up to take insurance. My husband arrived for the appointment and was told the payment needed to be in cash, that they did not have a credit card machine. OK, that's strange, and should have been mentioned at the time of scheduling. Then he finishes the appointment and wants to pick out frames and lenses. He is told that he needs to make an appointment for that and the first appointment is 2 weeks out. He explained that we are leaving town in two weeks and needs his glasses before he leaves. No alternatives or solution was offered. This is the craziest thing I've ever heard. He said there were two sales clerks working the area, and no other customers. He couldn't figure out why they couldn't just help him. The only reason we went to Sam's for the eye appointment, was so we could order glasses and get them in a timely manner. If we were not going to be able to order the glasses on-site, we should have been informed at the time of making the appointment, so we wouldn't have wasted the trip. We went online to order the glasses ourselves. That involved me measuring, in millimeters, the distance between the pupils. I was very uncomfortable doing that, but we needed the glasses in a timely manner, so we did what we needed to do.

I went to the South Charleston, WV Sam's Club Optical Center on August 4 to get a replacement for a broken eyeglasses frame. Robin assisted me. I was MOST FAVORABLY IMPRESSED with the service I got from her! She was very knowledgeable, competent and friendly. Robin cheerfully and efficiently went out of her way to make sure that I promptly got what I needed. She has also in the past assisted my wife with her eyeglasses needs and my wife also thinks very highly of Robin and the great job that she does. I hope that her boss sees this review.

Driving home from Savannah GA to Detroit Mi. Needed to find a Sam’s Club optical to repair my husbands glasses from a lens popping out. Meet the nicest and most competent employee. She was absolutely wonderful. We are back on the road with clearer vision as she cleaned my glasses 🤓 too. Thank you

If I’d known how difficult it is to schedule an appointment with an optometrist, I’d never would have bought this shitty membership
