I highly recommend Dr. Sanders. She was friendly, professional, and did an excellent job conducting my eye exam. I would give her 5 stars. Unfortunately, I had a very difficult experience with Sam’s Club Optical Center’s customer support/service/privacy policies. They do not mail/ship prescription contact lenses. They only accept in-person pickup. I live an hour and 15 minutes away so that was disappointing, but I made the best of it by making my return for contacts into a grocery shopping day. Today I called and asked if they could please email me my receipt for the contacts that I picked up nine days ago (since I misplaced it). I needed the receipt for tax deduction purposes. It was my fault for misplacing the original receipt, and I didn’t want to be a further inconvenience, so I made sure to call them as soon as they opened. I wanted to give them as much time as possible to help me before my tax appointment today. To my great disappointment, they said that they could not email me the receipt for the contacts I drove over an hour to pick up in-person because of “privacy reasons” and an “unsecured network.” So, I asked if they could please email me just the purchase amount, place, and date (not the prescription)—and they said they couldn’t email me that either. The options they gave me were: pick up the receipt in-person or wait for them to mail it to me through the post office. This was incredibly confusing for two reasons: 1. I received an email last summer for the receipt of my eye exam with Dr. Sanders. They explained that she worked independently from Sam’s Club so that’s why that was allowed. 2. I can see the receipt for my in club grocery purchases from the same day I picked up my contacts under “purchase history” in my online Sam’s Club membership account. They didn’t explain why I could see the receipt for those purchases but not the contacts; I would guess they’d say the same thing—for “privacy reasons.”
