My experiences with searhc has been increasingly more frustrating with each interaction. For starters, its team has spread itself so thin that they are not able to effectively help their patients. I had an extremely bad infection that requires antibiotics that I was told I could call in and get refilled when needed. Yet this promise was not upheld when I had to call for a week straight, where I was constantly met with “we are too understaffed to help, please call back again tomorrow.” When I finally got referred, the pharmacy told me that the refill would take days to come in and I should go to urgent care if I’m in so much pain. So after a week of being in debilitating pain, I went to urgent care where they said they didn’t know what was wrong and to make a doctors appointment. This constant chase of being batted around to different departments with no success in treatment directly reflects searhc’s inability to support their patients, especially native patients who they claim have their utmost attention. Unfortunately, my bad experience with searhc extent to the faculty itself. Multiple times staff has made me feel neglected and discriminated against. An example has been with Mindona Billings, who purposefully deadnamed and misgendered me after acknowledging my preferred name and pronouns. As a Christian woman, Billings should know more than anyone to love thy neighbor and not let her beliefs affect the quality of care she gives her patients. This is extremely disappointing considering the fact that searhc prides itself on having a diverse and accepting team, just to turn a blind eye when their faculty is harming lgbtq+ youth. Health practitioners are supposed to care for patients no matter their identity or background. Adding on, my experience with searhc is subjective, yet relatives of mine have had similar experiences with the downfall of searhc. My family member was recently told that searhc is cutting off her insurance, and was told she now has to fly out of town if she wishes to seek any further care with them. The fact that searhc is quietly stripping away resources with no remorse for its native residents is nothing short of disheartening. Tribal citizens already experience moderate to low health care standards, and with searhc expanding, they are adding on to these devastating statistics. In summary, searhc has increasingly lowered their quality of care for their patients and I advise people to seek medical care at any other institution before going to searhc.

I came in to urgent care to be seen and the lady behind the counter was not very pleasant and had an attitude from the beginning. She was rude to me when I asked her a question and just snapped at me like I was disturbing her peace. When I asked her her name she was rude about it.her name is Latisha. I was conversing just fine and keeping it official. She needs to learn people skills, I didn't do anything or say anything to be treated like that. This really made me uncomfortable and I rather not come back. Everyone else that works here have been really pleasant.
It is impossible to get a hold of anyone or to get a call back from anyone at this facility. I was waiting for a pre-authorization for an MRI which my insurance company stated they never received on 5 December, as stated by the office, that is when they sent it. So I called Their offices again to let them know how they need to submit the pre-authorization. I left two messages on two separate phone numbers, and then finally got a hold of a live person. Let her know my issue and she said she would escalate it and give me a call back. That was the second week of December. It is now the first week of January and I have gotten no call. I just tried to call every number that. SEARHC Has listed online and nobody answers any of their numbers. I need to get in touch with the Specialty clinic in Sitka. They overcharge and they do not follow up with their patients. The only reason I went to them in the first place was because they had the only rheumatologist in Juneau/Sitka and that was the specialist I needed to see. Very disappointed. And they definitely overcharge for everything.!! It’s horrible how they are taking over all of Southeast Alaska medical care When all they care about is money and nothing about the patients!
This review is regarding Dr. Keegan Jackson. I reached out multiple times via email and left phone messages with the nurses, as did the mortuary, to clarify important issues concerning my mom Rose. It has now been over three weeks with no response. I am shocked by the lack of common decency and professionalism. A simple, polite decline with reasoning or even directing me to the proper point of contact as I requested would have been sufficed. Clearly, civility is rare. As a tribal citizen, I often find myself questioning the medical teams that serve our communities. It’s a known fact that we do not always receive the best care, and it is often mediocre. I cannot speak for all medical professionals, as many show up and genuinely care for our people, but then there are those who are here because they couldn’t make it anywhere else. This experience seems to highlight certain troubling behaviors.
I went to Searhc last week Advanced Nurse Abby didn't even know how to use eye pressure gadget? While I was sitting there Watching her read Directions? From her phone? She didn't know what to do? She stuck it in my right eye ball 2x,twice??!!! & then while reading the Directions?
