Went in Shawnee today after my Cataract surgery. Needed a pr. of reading glasses 👓. Excellent service 👌 I wanted apr of High-end. Great selection. Anxiously awaiting for my Classy/Sassy glasses to come i Thank You 🙂🙂👍 !
I don't often review products or businesses, but I felt others might benefit from reading about my recent experiences with Larry at Shawnee Optical in Hermitage, PA. First, the prescription sunglasses I purchased from Shawnee were problematic from the beginning. One lens was improperly cut and would not remain seated in the frame. After 1 1/2 years of the lens popping out of the frame, I took the defective glasses back to Shawnee Optical to see what could be done. Larry at Shawnee conceded that the glasses were defective, that they were sold by Shawnee, and offered to have new lenses cut for the glasses at half price once I had a new prescription. I asked Larry to write down that promised discount. The outbreak of COVID-19 delayed from getting a new eye exam for a few years. When I finally returned to Shawnee with the original defective glasses and the hand-written promise from Larry to cut the new lenses at a 50% discount, Larry reneged. Even though others in the store recognized the promise had been written by Larry, Larry informed me that because he does not recall writing the promised discount he would not honor it. Given the shoddy product they sold me and their failure to follow-through on a promised remedy, I would recommend that others exercise caution when considering purchasing anything from Shawnee Optical.
