I took my Mom here after being discharged from Christiana Hospital. She was apprehensive about going simply because she had never been admitted into a rehab center before. We were welcomed in from the very first day. Genie was the best, she listened to my concerns as well as my Mom’s and made her and me feel like family. Mom’s care was detailed and timed perfectly. They didn’t rush her into physical therapy, but got her up and moving in a timely fashion. Her meds were dispensed on a timely basis and adjusted if needed. Mom did have a roommate and they got along well together, both being former educators. They were careful with food allergies and special request. Mom said the food was good too. If special equipment was needed to assist with getting Mom well and up on her feet, it was supplied, i.e. wheelchair, walker, support hose. I had also asked for Mom to be checked for blood clots simply because she had been laying in a hospital bed for a week and then the first couple of weeks here too. That scan was performed within two days and I was called with the results. Nurses as well as doctors kept me informed of my Mom’s day to day health checkups almost daily. If I ever had a question I got an answer usually by day end, unless the doctor was gone for the day. Then the next morning I would get a call. They can do your family member’s laundry, but I did choose to do my Mom’s myself. After discharge Mom and I both did get several calls just to see how she was making out with being back home. That was very appreciative of them. They also trained me how to give Mom her insulin, because I was unaware. Mom loved her stay and all of the staff and I loved that they took really good care of my Mom for me. I see one of the questions on google is about the cost. Mom’s insurance paid for her stay.

This review is regarding a staff member at this facility, Genie: I always say that first impressions are important as that first time you interact with an individual is the memory you won’t ever forget. Upon meeting Genie, she had a kind and warm spirited energy that felt genuine. This is the type of care that is vital to working in an assisted living facility.

I met Genie during my grandmother’s stay at Evergreen Post Acute nursing home in Smyrna. My grandmother was not doing well at the time, and her decline in health was rough on my family and I. What put us at ease though, was knowing that someone we care so deeply about was staying in a place with such caring and helpful staff. Genie specifically was always so pleasant. Her kindness and empathy were so comforting in such a stressful time.

Genie is a very nice, friendly, and informative worker. She does not hesitate to help any of the residents or her fellow co-workers who are in need of assistance. She shows and has a real concern when she feels someone isn't having good day. She goes out of her way to try and console them. I feel that her efforts are much appreciated by me as well as the other residents.

Genie, (Dietician), Nyah, Lester in wound care, Chris-Love, Stephanie, Shyanne, and Victoria (CNAs) and Princess (house keeping) - just to name a few~you guys made my stay very wonderful and the Therapy team was amazing too. You guys totally rock! Even the dining room and daily activities were great. The food was tasty! The church services were awesome! If I ever had to do rehab in Smyrna again, it will be at Evergreen. Thanks guys
