Spotlight Optometry

I recently moved to San Diego from Atlanta and needed to find a new eye doctor. I had been going to the same optometrist since the 4th grade, so I was honestly a little nervous about finding someone new. Spotlight Optometry had the earliest appointment available, and I’m so glad I stumbled across this practice! From the receptionist to the doctor, every single person was incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional. The doctor took the time to explain the differences between the various contact lens brands, answered all of my questions, and made sure I found the best option for both my eyes and my budget. I never once felt rushed. Finding a new healthcare provider after moving can be stressful, but Spotlight made the entire experience so easy. Their customer service is truly outstanding, and I left feeling relieved knowing I’d found my new eye doctor. I couldn’t recommend them more!

Dr. Chain, Alyssa and Abby are all wonderful and kind. They communicate transparently, concisely and thoroughly about what they are going to do and how much everything will cost or not cost with your insurance. The office is super clean, comfortable, welcoming and appointments have always started right on time and progressed with no delays. I would recommend this office to everyone looking for a new or switching their optometrist office!

Straight up the best eye exam I’ve ever had! Everything at Spotlight was comfortable and clean, the machinery and technology used is very modern, and Dr. Chain was so great to work with. She explained everything in detail and made it really easy for me to understand the changes in my vision as well as other things going on with my eyes. She walked me through the photos taken of my eyes, compared them with diagrams, and explained what she was looking for. She even walked me through how astigmatism works and how the lenses in my glasses would improve that without introducing eye fatigue. I wasn’t upsold or pushed on anything, it was a full service appointment, and I can’t wait to go back soon to buy my new glasses. Many thanks to Dr. Chain and team!

I found this place on Yelp in 2024 and just took a random chance on it and I have zero regrets. The office is very well-kept and the staff are always receptive and friendly. Dr. Chain is a very thorough doctor and very transparent. She is happy to provide a lot of information about your eyes and she makes sure to address your concerns/questions to your satisfaction. I’ve been going here since. The only downsides I can see is you might have to remind them to send you a copy of a receipt or prescription and there may be the lack of variety of frames, but I haven’t had any issues with the frames.

Dr. Chain and Spotlight Optometry are just wonderful. I have never had an Optometrist take my eye care so seriously. Her staff are professional and helpful. I am so grateful to be under her care. I am thrilled that my wife found her. I would not hesitate to send anyone to her. Spotlight is the best!
