Very disappointed in this place.
I have been wearing glasses and contacts for over 30 years and have only changed Eye Doctors when moving to different states. Normally, I go to a different place in this area, but I had heard I could get cheaper glasses here, so I decided to give it a shot.
I thought the zoom type appoint was odd, but thought it might work out alright. It did not. It’s very impersonal and they don’t really ensure that you’re getting the right prescription for you.
I was put in the completely wrong prescription. I knew it as soon as I put my contacts in. I told the tech and she did her best to help me, but she said it’s normal to feel off at first and I thought she was probably right.
Against my better judgement, I ordered glasses (and they were EXPENSIVE) because I wanted to make sure I had them for an upcoming trip. They came in and the prescription was totally off. Everything I looked at looked curved and blurred. I was getting dizzy and headaches.
I brought them back and said they’re not right. They told me that ONLY since I was within my 30 days, I could get them redone, but I would have to wait to see the doctor on a day they’re in.
I waited a few days to see the doctor. The doctor adjusted the prescription to the wrong prescription AGAIN, but they didn’t have the trial pair of contacts, so I didn’t realize until the glasses came back. They were better but still not right. I was still getting dizzy and headaches.
I was also still waiting for a trial pair of contacts to come in and they never did. While I was waiting for them to come in, I missed the 30 day return window on my glasses, so I didn’t bother bringing them in.
I was going on another trip and thought I could deal with contacts that were a little off, so I ordered some online. I PAID for them and they NEVER came in. I’ve called the store multiple times and they have no idea where they are and told me that I shouldn’t have been able to order them online because they don’t do that. I tried to call a corporate office, but you can’t connect to them, you can only call the store. So I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company and that is still not resolved.
I ended up going to my normal Eye Doctor and come to find out, they said the prescription that Stanton Optical gave me was completely off.
It has been 4 months since my initial appointment at Stanton Optical and it has been an absolute waste of time and money. I’m out $500 on the appointment and glasses that are awful, and I’m out $200 on contacts that never came in.
The only good thing about this place is the staff was super nice to me.
I will NEVER come back here and I suggest you don’t waste your time, money, or patience on this place. Trust the bad reviews. I wish I read them before coming here.
