SVS Vision

i scheduled an appt online on sunday 8/9 for wednesday 8/12, and provided all of my insurance information when i booked. i arrived for my appt today at 11:45am, was greeted and told that my benefit doesn’t cover my exam due to having an exam last july (i thought exams were covered yearly, but apparently it’s changed). my annoyance is that they didn’t check and confirm my benefits prior to me coming, then tried to tell me it was $69 out-of-pocket for an exam — wasted my time. she told me they kept trying to call me, but i only received a voicemail from their automated system to confirm my appt... i will never come back here and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone else.

Actual eye doctor was great. Everyone else I experienced both with just checking in for the very first time with everyone I talked to on the phone when I had to change an order and then call for status updates - RUDE with insane condescending attitudes for no reason at all. I don’t understand how this is just allowed as the culture in this store. It was my first experience with an eye glasses store in my life as we found out my daughter needed glasses. Just went to the closest SVS vision to my home. Theirs no shot I would ever go back to this location. And just to be clear there were never any issues. It was attitude just on contact. And not subtle at all. It was meant to show immediate dissatisfaction (I assume with their own lives projected onto others but that’s a different story). Like to provide an update. These messages saying we’re sorry you had a bad experience please reach out to this email so they can get back with you? BS. I reached back out same day and that was 2 weeks ago almost and they never responded to my email. On par I’d say.

Great people. Everyone was very kind to my 8 year old that got her first glasses. They went out of the way to make her feel comfortable. Thank you!

Want to start this off by saying I used to work in the eyeglass industry and worked with the doctor closely. I saw how a serious exam was performed and this was not it. This appt was for my bf, but I sat in because I wanted to see how it went. ZERO communication. Did the exam with the doctor and was told his eyes were healthy. That was IT. Literally. Didn’t offer dilation or even mention the photos as an option. When choosing his glasses, I asked about the prescription and the optician gave attitude and then printed it off. He received zero explanation on what any of it meant. Don’t recommend. Go see Dr. Jones at Village Family Eyecare. She is so thorough and will answer any questions without attitude ♥️

Sometimes this place is open for business during the hours posted and sometimes it’s not. It’s always a gamble never knowing if they’re open. The phone is rarely ever picked up when you call. I’ve shown up in person and it’s Closed meanwhile hours on door show it should be open. Just find a reliable optic business if you care about your vision in a timely manner.
