This incident took place between 7:00 and 8:00pm on Friday, June 5 at the customer service center of the Fred Meyer located at 4505 South 19th Avenue. I have been running a convenience store for 23years. Since this Fred Meyer is close to my shop and offers great deals. I visit it four or five times a week to buy merchandise for my store. On this particular day I went because of a buy 2 get 2 free promotion. I purchased 4bags of Doritos, and 4bags of Cheetos. However although I should have only paid for 4bags out of the 8bags. I was charged for 5bags . When I went to 'Customer Service Center' to point this out, the employee claimed that Cheetos puffs were not included in the 'buy 2 get 2 free' offer. I argued that it made no sense for the deal to apply to Cheetos but exclude Cheetos puffs. So the employee and me went to the Chip aisle

I went in to do an exchange the lady at the customer service desk said oh I don’t know. Let me call the home department. I reply with no need. I’ll just take a refund. She refused to give me a refund and called the Home department anyway she received no answer, she then started arguing with me. Proceeding to tell me that she just wanted to do me a favor and I’m like no I just want my money back. She did not want to give me my refund then she said it has to go on a gift card that’s fine. I obviously shop here. She was still arguing with me about giving me a refund. She did not want to help me with an exchange so I wanted my money back so I can help myself. She said she can refuse my service. I said OK give me my receipt back so I can leave. She then saw a Manager and proceeded to tell the manager what happened instead of giving me my receipt back like I had more than once. Even had asked for my receipt back more than once from the manager. She called the manager because I had an attitude. Yes I have an attitude when you refuse to give me my money. They couldn’t help with an exchange then got mad when I wanted a refund. The whole reason I almost never step into this location is the terrible service you get.

I visited a smaller store compared to the nearby Fred Meyer, but it has a nice, large parking lot. I arrived late in the evening and noticed some smaller stores in between. The entrance on the west side closes at 7 PM, so we entered from the east side instead. Inside, the store has a small produce section located next to the bakery. I was specifically looking for Belgian endive, but it seemed they had never heard of it. There was no one available to help in the produce section. However, a lady in the bakery was kind enough to page someone to assist me. Unfortunately, I couldn't find what I was looking for during this trip, but I wanted to share my experience of visiting the store. Additionally, there is a security officer by the door, which is a nice feature.

This is my favorite fred Meyer. They haven't turned the aisles skinny and tall yet. Stay the same fred. Thank you. I only shop here

I love the staff and have been shoping here for a l o ng time, but Holy crap!!! ( less about the store and more about the area and the rampant panhandeling at almost every entrance of the parking lot. Nothing against the homeless ( hell, i am since right before Christmas last year, so my heart goes out to you) but if you get pissed because I bring you hot food from the deli instead of " cash to catch the bus to my uncle's house/ job interview/ etc" then to hell with you." Times are tough all over. So don't be an ass.
