The Optical Center

I do not recommend at all. This place is an assembly line more concerned about sales than providing actual care in my opinion. They convinced me to take a "virtual" exam when calling for appointment despite me questioning the accuracy. Then they upsold me to a $500 (with insurance!) pair of bifocal, anti-glare glasses. It was like buying a car where they kept selling me add on options as the order was being written. The glasses made my visions 10x worse. They kept telling me it takes time to adjust but never took the time to explain or help me understand if I was doing anything incorrectly. Weeks later after demanding an actual in person exam with the doctor, I'm told glasses were all wrong. 2nd pair was no better. I again tried wearing them for several weeks but distance vision was so bad I couldn't wear them walking or driving and actually tripped and fell once due to the horrible depth perception. So after several visits I have a $500 pair of reading glasses because that's all they are good for. I won't go back.

I had Angelina help me Monday evening before closing. Angelina was very knowledgeable, helpful and patient. I was tentatively trying to order frames, and with her help, was able to commit to the frame I was interested in. She was willing to work past closing time to take my information and get the frame on order. I just picked them today and am very pleased. Thank you to Angelina for her help. 👍

I’ve been here quite a few times over many years and I highly recommend! The staff are so helpful! I have brought my daughters here since they were small and I made an appointment for myself. Krystal was so gentle and caring during my tests. She explained everything that she was going to do. Doc the doctor was amazing! He explained everything so well. Thank you all so much again!! First experience with The Optical Center and couldn’t be more pleased! My husband lost his glasses so was extremely thankful that prescription was filled in less than an hour after he chose the frames! I had visited the showroom a couple of days before to see if they had any frames similar to those he lost and wanted to replace as close to the original as possible. Val spent quite a bit of time with me finding and narrowing down the choices. When we returned to purchase the glasses, Patrick assisted us to complete the sale. Both associates were very helpful, knowledgeable, professional, and courteous throughout every step of the process. I highly recommend The Optical Center in Matamoras, PA and employees Val and Patrick!

We are not from the area and my wife’s glasses got bent out of shape and we walked in and they hooked us up immediately treated us like we were royalty and on top of that didn’t even charge us because they’re so sweet. Sam and Angelina are amazing.
