I’ve been going to Dr Ebrahim for several years. The visits are very thorough. Dr Ebrahim and his staff are very informative and friendly. Thank you for helping keep my eyesight. Would recommend his services to anyone.

I have been under treatment since 2008 for considerable retina problems in both eyes. I have been treated by many doctors in many states throughout my problems, with 7 surgeries. I decided to move back to New Orleans and I give this clinic a try. WOW! The worst bunch of so called professionals I have ever seen in the medical field. The staff made me feel uncomfortable and acted like children and the Dr. has an assembly line saying you need this and this, and this! Stay away from this so called clinic. I can tell you there are many very good retina clinics in New Orleans. How this place has not been shut down by the medical associations is beyond me. This clinic is the talk of the professionals as I have found after finding an excellent clinic. STAY AWAY!

Absolutely horrible experience. Shady, shady, shady company. Incompetent. Unprofessional. Dishonest. Sloppy. I had a procedure done in San Diego in December 2024. I was given an intraocular injection of Clindamycin to treat a persistent toxoplasmosis infection. As we were moving to New Orleans at the end of the month, my ophthalmologist in San Diego asked that I schedule a follow-up appointment in New Orleans for January 2025 and to have images taken and forward to him so he could review the progress of the treatment. When I called Dr. Ebrahim's office for the requested follow-up, I was very clear about the purpose of the appointment, saying that I would need images to forward to my doctor in San Diego. My appointment with Dr. Ebrahim on Monday, January 6 went as follows: 1) Waited an hour and a half in the lobby to be seen. (total length of visit was 3.5 hours) 2) The first 15 minutes of the consultation with Dr. Ebrahim was him saying that he didn't want to work in conjunction with another doctor (even though I had clearly stated the purpose of the visit multiple times). He then spent another 15 minutes telling me that I shouldn't drink alcohol (on the new patient questionnaire I had stated I have 1-2 drinks a night, something that is completely unrelated to the retinal infection for which I was being treated.) 3) New images were taken with old shoddy equipment that produced very unclear images, but I was assured that they would appear on the patient portal so I could share them with my doctor in San Diego. 4) Even without seeing the images or sharing them with my SD doctor, Dr. Ebrahim scheduled me for a second injection of Clindmaycin 3 days later. When asked if that would be enough time to share my images with my SD doctor, Ebrahim assured me that I would have them in time. 5) Dr. Ebrahim says that I should also be on oral antibiotics for at least the next 30-45 days and writes me a prescription for azithromycin. Tuesday passes.... no images on the patient portal. Wednesday passes, no images on the portal. I also notice that the portal shows that I am scheduled for a anti-cancer drug injection (not clindamycin, which is 100% wrong) and the prescription for the oral antibiotics is written for only 7 days. So I call the office to ask where the images are, and they say that they will not in fact be put online on the patient portal, but will instead be mailed to me.... but my injection is scheduled for tomorrow.... which means there's no chance that my doctor in San Diego will be able to review the images. I also asked why the drug scheduled to be injected is an anti-cancer drug, and the answer I got was a word-salad that translates to "Oops". It was at this point that I cancelled my appointment for the second injection the next day and requested a refund for the $400 that they had taken up front. They said they would have to wait until they heard back from the insurance company. When I finally got the EOB from the insurance company, I called them back again for a refund which they are obviously refusing. Shame on the Retina Institute, Dr. Ebrahim, and his less-than-capable staff. Great place, though, if you want a lip-filler or to look at crappy knock-off marble busts.

I have just come from Dr. Ebrahim's office, The Retina Institute. I brought my 90 year old mom who was referred by her eye doctor because of a stroke in her eye.. After waiting for an hour and 15 minutes we were seen by a technician who decided that because my mom couldn't hear and was nervous and I asked to close the door so when I raised my voice so my mom could hear me other people would not be disturbed, they couldn't see her. I have never been so rudely dismissed. No compassion to be found at this office. If you need extra help forget going here. It was so unprofessional and I will be looking to see if they have the nerve to bill her insurance. I would not recommend this Institute. They may have an excellent doctor(since I never even got to see him), but his staff is horrible. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS NO MATTER HOW OLD YOU GET!!!!!!!!!,
