I first went to Dr. Tesser in early 2021, and to be honest, I was in pretty bad shape. I had serious cataracts in both eyes. My right eye wandered to the point that I was often seeing double, and I had borderline glaucoma. My vision had gotten so bad that driving was a challenge. At one point, I found myself on the interstate closing one eye and then the other, trying to better see the cars ahead of me. Like a lot of people, I made the mistake of chalking it up to getting older. I’m almost 70, and I just assumed that diminishing eyesight was an inevitable part of aging. My vision kept getting worse, and I just dealt with it. Things finally got bad enough that I couldn't ignore it any longer. I looked online and found an eye doctor near my home in the north end of Chapel Hill, and made an appointment. After a thorough examination, the doctor referred me to a surgeon for my first cataract, then the second, and finally the surgery to straighten my eye. She managed the entire multi-year process and guided me every step of the way. The outcome exceeded anything I could have hoped for. Today, my vision is as good as it was when I was 20 years old! Beyond the results, what really stands out is the experience. The office is small, efficient, and genuinely friendly. You're not just a name on a chart, they actually know you. The doctor herself is as friendly, intelligent, and competent as anyone could hope for. This is the first doctor I’ve ever had where I actually enjoy my appointments. It feels a little bit like visiting with friends. If your vision isn’t what it used to be, don’t assume that’s just part of aging. That’s exactly what I did, and I wish I hadn’t waited. Choosing Dr. Tesser was the best medical decision I've ever made. If you’re on the fence about seeing an eye doctor, I suggest you make an appointment with Dr. Tesser. It could change your life the way it changed mine!

Dr. Tesser and her staff were welcoming, and she was very friendly and thorough while explaining the results of my exam. Her recommendations were helpful and seemed really sensible. I was also impressed to find the latest state-of-the-art equipment being utilized at every step of the exam. My wife and I will be returning there for our future vision care.

Dr. Tesser is an amazing Ophthalmologist! She definitely knows what she’s doing, and listened to what I had to say regarding my vision. She explained what she was doing and answered any questions I had. Highly recommend to all my friends and family members. The office staff are friendly and very efficient. The office gives off a lovely and relaxing atmosphere! Great choice in music!

Dr. Tesser is great! She noticed an issue of concern during a recent routine checkup. She calmly insisted that I see a retinal specialist and I'm truly grateful that I did. Her ability to balance the need for urgency without causing undue alarm made a huge difference in a stressful moment. I highly recommend her and her office!
