After agonizing over a bit of debris in my eye for 3 days, I finally broke down and decided to make a doctor’s appointment. I’m so glad I went with this clinic! Dr. John Deaton is an absolute hero! He removed a bit of metal from my eye that had rusted. I came in to the appointment an emotional wreck from the agony of the last three days but all the staff were so kind and comforting to me. The procedure was a breeze! Dr. Deaton got my eye fixed like a wizard and it only cost me $153 cash pay! Other places were going to charge around $400 for cash pay- so discouraging!! If you find yourself in a similar situation, I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you so much for helping me!❤️❤️❤️

Avoid this clinic! Called for ophthalmologist appt and they got me in same day 2pm. When they sat me down and said the optometrist will be with you shortly. I said, I thought I was seeing an ophthalmologist? We drove 30 minutes to come in to get an exam and mri ordered for double vision and palsy as ordered by an urgent care dr who did ct scan- which I told the lady that made the appt. The optometrist looked at my eyes and said yes you need an mri but can you come back in the morning first thing, I can't order an mri...Charge $180 (I've seen optometrist in Tyler for $75 eye exams so I dont know why there's is so high, he did nothing extra!) Came back at 8am next day, never imagined they would charge us again, the ophthalmologist ordered an mri and told me to go to ER to get it done faster. Charged me $200 to see him!!! The lady at the front said, I understand you're frustration but you saw two doctors! Unbelievable! We don't have insurance so it was cash pay. Also, per his orders we sat 10 hours in the ER to get an mri totaling $5,000...Dr could've sent me to an imaging center for a less time and money. Looking back I should've requested that. The whole staff was also a negative experience.

Made an appointment to get a prescription for computer glasses to help see my computer screen. Must have told the doctor five times that I only want computer glasses. Turns out they gave me a prescription for "progressive lenses" and not "computer lenses." It took days before they corrected the prescription. The "corrected" prescription resulted in glasses that were blurry and out of focus. I'm sticking with the over-the-counter reading glasses since they're "adequate," which is way more than I can say about the service at the Christus Trinity Eye Clinic. UPDATE: 2 MONTHS LATER -- Still Wrong Prescription / Still No Glasses / and now they want to charge me an extra $45 copay for gettiing everything WRONG. Imagine taking your car for an oil change and they change the transmission fluid instead; and then demand that you pay extra for the servicing of the transmission. Their answer to this goat rope..."Charges for this date of service will stand."

Very disappointed, made an eye appointment 2 months ago with Mineola Christus eye clinic as I have Christus insurance which was verified when I made the appointment. Well the evening before the appointment the eye clinic called and said they don’t take Christus insurance for routine eye exams and it would have to be out of pocket. Sure would have been appropriate for them to tell me this 2 months ago when I made the appointment with all the same information. Shows that they don’t really care about their patients or customers. Definitely will go elsewhere going forward.

Great experience today. My teenage son’s first eye exam and all the staff were wonderful. Dr Deaton was very professional and explained everything to us. Highly recommend!
