I I want to get my glasses and I got my eyes checked and I got some new glasses for me and everyone that works at this place are really nice and I just want to add a few more things about this place I before it's used to be were i used to work a long time ago and I was there getting my glasses i was reminded of the time I worked in this place and it brought lots of memories. How time passes by chance to see what this building is today and I would like to say that everyone there are really nice and friendly thank you? 💯

Went in here without appointment due to symptoms of detaching retina. They took me in right away and could not have been more caring and helpful. From the time I arrived, Mel took care of getting me in with the same level of care continued on by her sister! And Dr. Jake was fantastic really doing a thorough job ensuring what was going on in my eye. This is my new go to place for initial eye care. Everyone here was super friendly and made me feel welcome. Highly recommended!

I had an excellent experience at Tucson Optometry Clinic. The entire team was extremely professional, caring, and thorough. They took as much time as needed to carefully check my eye pressure, evaluate my eye health, and make sure my glasses prescription was exactly right. I never felt rushed and truly felt listened to and well cared for. Highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for attentive and high-quality eye care.

Exceptional Customer Service ! The team - Dr. Jake, Octavio, Gabriel, Rachel, Arielle, Rachel, Jaeda, really went above and beyond to follow up and ensure that my new prescription glasses were perfect! We often see “exceeds expectations” as a choice on reviews, but this experience really was an “ EXCEEDS CUSTOMER’S EXPECTATIONS!” Yes, they really did. I had a prescription from another optometrist in Tucson and my vision just didn’t feel right. Dr. Jake and his team (please forgive me if I missed anyone or misspelled any of your names, but pretty much everyone there helped me during my visits!) were all super nice and very patient and took extra time, efforts, re-evaluated my old glasses, and double-double checked everything! AND my new glasses from Tucson Optometry are absolutely perfect and wonderful! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! (You were all so helpful, I would take you all out for an expensive dinner if I could! ) I highly recommend this great Optometrist Team! Jim M

My mother (69) visited Tucson Optometry Clinic in March 2026 for an annual exam with Dr. Jacob Hiscox O.D. I accompanied her throughout the entire visit as her son and advocate. While the clinical findings were thorough - cataracts, drusen, and early AMD were identified - the experience that followed was deeply frustrating. My mother simply wanted a temporary pair of glasses and contacts for an upcoming trip, understanding she would likely need a new prescription after cataract surgery. Instead, Dr. Hiscox refused to release her prescription until she had the surgery - leaving her with nothing actionable from a paid exam. When we questioned this, the explanations kept shifting - first a legal requirement, then office policy, then that my mother had chosen to return after surgery. None were accurate or consistent, and we were also incorrectly told she could not legally drive, which is factually wrong per AZ MVD requirements. As part of the intake process upon arrival - before the exam had even begun - my mother was required to sign an "Acknowledgement of Receipt" of her prescription. The manager herself later acknowledged this practice was problematic. After researching the FTC Eyeglass Rule - which requires prescriptions be provided automatically after a refractive exam - I visited the office in person. The prescription was immediately released with no clinical change whatsoever, confirming it could have been provided on day one. A full refund of the exam fee was ultimately issued after initially being refused, and we did request a copy of her patient records. The manager and front office staff were personally courteous, and we appreciate the referral to a retinal specialist that was provided. However, the shifting explanations, incorrect legal claims, and inconsistencies we encountered are concerning - particularly for elderly patients without an informed advocate. If this happens to you, know that the FTC Eyeglass Rule entitles you to your prescription immediately after a refractive exam - no conditions attached. Tucson has a lot of great optometrists, but I would suggest steering clear of Dr. Jake.
