Utmb University Hospital

Our daughter was at Jennie Sealy UTMB Galveston, floor 11B, room 1128 from 25 Feb to 10 Mar. She received the best care possible from a team of dedicated healthcare professionals. We would like to extend our sincere appreciation for Nurses Will, Raymond, and Shannon. They were each awesome in their own individual interactions thoughout her stay. Patient Care Team member Lori was also a clear standout providing excellent care. Also, Laquita made sure our room was clean and fresh. She greeted us with a smile and a hello each day. Special shoutout to Nurse Will who was perhaps the best medicine our daughter had. He added some humor and levity to a serious life changing diagnosis. Clearly a man at the top of his profession. We won't forget you or the great Neuro team that made sure our daughter got back on her feet. Sincere gratitude to all.

Great speedy care, friend ended up having to stay thru 2 shift changes before heading to surgery and ICU and I can easily say every staff member was so kind and attentive. Nurse Hunter was also especially friendly and great at caring for our friend and explaining everything going on.

Horrible! Went in for a simple heel spur surgery on November 14, 2025 and it's now May and the surgeon Dr. Punchbhavi screwed up and I've been laying in my bed for 7 months in constant enormous pain and the foot is still numb and all kinds of nerve damage and they refuse to do anything as my body is just withering away. My health is deteriorating and I have zero life and they refuse to help with the pain but yet patient advocate and the medical staff is worried about me using cuss words after 7 months of constant pain rather than getting me healthy and fixing their mistakes. Dr. Punchbhavi tried to amputate my neighbors toe also and he saw another Doctor and with some physical therapy, my neighbor is just fine and didn't lose his toe. Very poor ethics, if they have any at all. If this is what they teach their students is neglect, we are going to have some terrible doctors and nurses. If you can avoid this hospital, by all means do so. Nobody has returned my calls or messages or even attempted to fix me. I should've never went to them. I was active until I went to UTMB, now I'm bed ridden and can't do a single thing. Some times I can't even make it to the bathroom.

Make sure you validate your ticket. It would have been nice to know what was wrong with my leg. No one could tell me that. My primary care doctor helped me a lot. I got a shot to help with the pain and he gave me a muscle relaxer which really helped my leg stretch out more so I was finally able to wear shoes again. He even referred me to Ortho and Ortho was able to fit me in their schedule the next day. Ortho was useless though. The overall energy was very socialable, moreso amongst themselves than with us the actual patients. Overall, it was like I was at a... You'll never guess it... a university. Lol. I would recommend this place. They seem very efficient. They try their best to get you out with quality care so you can get your medicine and go back to work.

I had the absolute very best Visit today! I absolutely love the entire staff, appointment clerks, Nurse (Mary Burns), Amazing ~ one of a kind Doctor (Bailey Hunt). They all were totally amazing, kind, friendly, caring, and supportive. I feel very blessed to have this wonderful staff available. My kids and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. If I could rate them a 10+ by all means I would! It’s been awhile since I’ve encountered such wonderful people in one place. Just truly wholeheartedly appreciate each of them. Thank you all.
