I have been a patient at VEI for several years. I am quite pleased with my recent visit to VEI and I will continue to avail myself of the services provided. I arrived prior to the scheduled appointment hour and I was seen with almost no wait time! The reception staff was friendly and efficient. Dr. Golisch is thorough, attentive. and she has a rather pleasant "bedside" demeanor. I am equally pleased with the para-professional medical staff that assists her. High praises for the VEI location in Hanover!

Upon arrival you are welcomed a pleasant, knowledgeable staff that serve to properly assist you in achieving your desired goal(s) for that visit. In particular, referencing Dr. Abbey Mayer, I found her to be very knowledgeable, well discerning, patient, thorough, thoughtful and very considerate despite being regularly inundated with her daily demands. To note, when she is not available for consultation, her personal assistant is very dedicated and knowledgeable, with a service first demeanor, to well help you in any addressing any concern(s) you may have. Suffice to say, aforementioned sincerely expressed, overall this is a great place to entrust your medical interests.
The receptionist were very professional and my wait time was brief. Everyone i encountered was knowledgeable and patient with me which I do appreciate. I would recommend Virginia Eye Institute to anyone in the Mechanicsville area.
The phone operator sounded like she was talking into a can, I told her several times about this problem. And she did NOTHING!!!! I was calling to reschedule an appointment, they had NOTHING for 5 months?? I said that I would see any MD as long as it was at the Hanover office. Then she told me I if I saw an optometrist, if would be $140 cash, I have two kinds of health care insurance, I'm not paying out of pocket. My PMD says that I'm going blind, due to new onset of diabetes and I need to see someone ASAP. .5 month waiting for an appointment for a simple eye exam!!!!!!!! RIDICULOUS!!!!
Was really anxious about this visit to VEI, as I was getting a second opinion about treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME) in my left eye. Treatment is an injection of VABYSMO directly into my eye with on-going similar treatments. Doctor was aware of my issue(s)/concerns about injection and treatment went well. Am actually looking forward to follow-up visit!!
