I’ve been a patient here for around 10 years and always loved the experience at Chesterfield Eyeworks. A big reason I kept coming back was Dr. Holmes and the overall atmosphere. It felt locally owned, personable, and genuinely customer focused. You could call the office directly with questions or concerns and always felt taken care of. Since the new ownership transition to Vision Clinic, that experience feels very different. While Vision Clinic may still be “local,” the office now has more of a big box corporate feel. Calls are routed through a call center, and getting the personalized help and communication I was once accustomed to seems like a thing of the past. I truly appreciated what this office used to be and hope some of that personal touch can return.

.Vision Clinic recently took over Chesterfield Eyeworks, and my experience has been quite disappointing. From the start, the eye exam felt more like a sales pitch than a professional checkup. The optometrist seemed focused on upselling expensive eye drops and masks rather than genuinely addressing my needs, which made me uncomfortable. When it came to purchasing glasses, Vision Clinic quoted me over $900 due to my eye condition. Trusting their expertise, I went ahead with the purchase, only to find out later that I could have gotten the exact same glasses at the mall for around $625. This felt like a major ripoff. To make matters worse, the arms of my $900 glasses came loose, and when I returned for repairs, I was told the glasses were under warranty but still had to pay a $50 deductible for two missing screws. I've never encountered a warranty that requires such a fee for a simple fix. This added expense felt like another way Vision Clinic tries to squeeze money out of customers. Overall, my experience with Vision Clinic has been a frustrating mix of upselling, overpriced products, and questionable warranty policies. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for your eye care needs to avoid feeling taken advantage of.
Absolutely incredible as always. Never a bad experience here. I've had some problems with a pair of glasses that have a material defect. The entire clinic is on board to ensure my satisfaction. Thank you Sydni, Dr. Holmes, Dr. Rice, Sarah, Nema, James, and anybody else I've failed to mention. This is the greatest customer service experience I've ever had. Highly recommend.
My first experience with Chesterfield eyeworks was because I had an exam in the mall. The video doctor noticed something on the retina. She recommended that I see an ophthalmologist. I only knew one, Dr Holmes, because my mother had gone there. Dr Holmes was so thorough. And recommended a referral to Mercy. Which I did as soon as possible. Now it's one year later, so I went back for a follow-up with Dr Holmes. The treatment I have received at Mercy is improving my eyesight because of a small tear in the retina which Dr Holmes verfiyed. Dr Holmes help me to verify the recommended treatment is working and my eyesight is improving. I am grateful to Dr Holmes for his expert opinion and professionalism. And also the staff is very in tune to the individual. This wonderful gal at the desk was so gracious and kind, beautiful I might add, I couldn't stop looking at her. Once again thank you.
I wear mono vision contacts and as I have aged, it has become more difficult to get a good mix, there has to be compromise somewhere. I saw Dr. Stephanie Rice for a contact lens follow up and she was wonderful! She listened to my concerns and was very patient while I tried different combinations that would be best for me OUTSIDE of that tiny office; she let me go sit in my car to test the combination! The staff were also amazing! I had an issue with my new bifocals, the office manager used her multiple hats to help me with what I wanted and needed in the adjustments and measures. She listened and heard me, asking questions to make sure she knew what I needed.
