I've been to this Visionworks inside South Hills Village Mall before. I simply am used to going to a private eye doctor vs a larger chain. BUT, after yesterday, I'm beginning to see why I should never again see a private eye doctor. I went to my eye doctor yesterday for contacts and new lenses in my perfectly fine expensive Oakley frames. I was charged $383.47 after insurance (Eyemed) for 6 months of 2 week disposable contacts, a portion of the exam, a portion of the lense eval/fitting, and the retina scan. He made an adjustment to my lenses and I just wanted to see the cost. My doctor's office wanted to charge me $240 to put an upgraded RX of lenses into my frames. I said, no thanks, please use the benefits for my contacts. My girlfriend and I were talking about how expensive it seemed, so I decided to go to Visionworks on my way home to just get a price for the lenses. I walked in, she got my RX, called EyeMed, and said I'd be responsible for $40 polycarbonate copay-- that's it, $40!! THEN, due to a promotion of buy 1 get 1 50% off, she took my back-up pair of Oakley frames and said they would only be $115. SO, I left Visionworks paying $155 for essentially 2 pairs of new Oakley glasses!!! I really think I was robbed by by private doctor on the contacts and will not return. I was in Visionworks for 10 minutes lol. Way to rock it!!!

This place is amazing, or more importantly the people that work there are awesome! Quick, friendly and always willing to help! Thank you so much to the Optometrist that saw me this past week, he did his due diligence and saw my optic nerves were swollen, and thankfully it was nothing life threatening so far! But I'm able to get it looked at and possibly fixed before it snowballed into something else.
Probably the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. Wish I could give a zero. My wife and I both recently got new glasses from Vision Works and they weren’t fitting correctly. We were at the mall shopping and decided to stop in and see if they could quickly adjust them. The man at the desk told us to take a seat and they would be with us as soon as possible. Soon after the guy told a lady behind the counter we were there to get our glasses adjusted and she immediately turned toward us a stared at us with an unbelievable scowl. After several minutes of this unbelievable stare down we felt uncomfortable and even threatened. I walked up to the counter and told the guy behind the register we were leaving and didn’t appreciate the stare down. Then I heard the lady mumble something like, “what did they expect coming in here without an appointment.” Sad example of lousy customer service. We have many choices where we can get our yearly prescription glasses, and Vision Works will not be on the list going forward.
They make out quick and easy. From scheduling to the exam and the purchase, everything is perfect. I always come hear because they are priced competitively with good quality. The staff is always top notch as well. You cannot go wrong with this location.
The store was clean, had great options for my glasses, sales person was Frendly, honest, and took care in me so I was happy with my selection, thank you.
