I normally go to America's Best but they don't take my insurance so I came here instead. I was nervous because I've been going to the same place for so long and was happy with it. I'm glad I went today though because I was VERY happy with their service. Everyone was so friendly, from the person checking me in, to the eye doctor, to the woman that helped me with ordering my glasses/contacts after. Even when I called to make the appointment, the guy that answered the phone was so friendly and pleasant. The doctor was very thorough and answered any questions I had. I had my son with me and he was very nice to him as well. Everyone was. My exam was covered by insurance, I just paid a $60 contact fitting fee and then my glasses were covered by my insurance as well. My contacts are going to be around $170 for two boxes (2 different prescriptions) when I go back and order them. The pricing was very fair and they had a BIG selection of glasses at every price point. My whole appointment was very quick and I was very happy with the service. I highly recommend this vision center. 👍 Edit: My glasses came in today and they're perfect! The receipt said I'd have them by the 26th and they came in 6 days early! I'm very surprised at the negative reviews because I've been extremely happy with every part of the process from booking my appointment, being seen, to getting my glasses. I highly recommend them!
Had my first ever eye exam by Dr. Larissa Pundy today. Basic eye exam is $65. I signed a form specifically stating I don’t mind paying an extra $20 for pupil dilation and that I DO NOT want to pay for retinal photography. Her staff both said she would explain this to me. She did not. During the exam Dr.Pundy was going through the motions of the exam. I had already told her and her staff I’ve never had an eye exam before and didn’t know what to expect. She then tells me to sit in front of this machine and to stare at it so she can check my eyes. Then she quickly says “oh can I take a pic?” I’m assuming this is apart of the basic exam. I already provided her a form that I signed and dated that said NO to retinal photography. So I said sure. Her staff gave her that form where I said no. Why would you ask me that after I told you I don’t know what to expect. Her staff looked at the form after I disputed the $20 up charge and told her it said no. She yells back “she said I could”. More than once I stated this is my first exam and I didn’t know what to expect. So why have somebody sign a form, when the form means nothing anyway? Manipulative. Do not use Larissa Pundy or the Walmart Vision Center in Elk Grove Village.
I took my 4 year old daughter to this ignorant Dr Desai. He screamed at my wife and my 4 year of daughter . He does not know that 225 ILCS 80/ Illinois Optometric Practice Act of 1987...the practice of Optometry is .....safety and WELFARE. This Dr Desai is a disgrace to this profession... After his unprofessional attitude, we talked front desk to a nice quite gentleman with beard ( he said Dr Desai is independent contractor) Two Indian Gujarati girls ( the girls were so embarrassed due to his behavior. Don't go to this vision center. we do like this Walmart except the Vision center. By the way the Pharmacy staff/ Returns section crew are good.
I was very apprehensive about using Walmart for this service. My daughter needed an exam for school. The whole experience was very quick, and Desai was wonderful with my daughter, making her feel comfortable and engaging her thorough-out the exam. Desai was very knowledgeable and answered all of the questions that popped into my head as we talked. Pleasantly surprised and would definitely recommend this vision center for the level of care we received.
