I’ve been going to the Walmart Vision Center for years for its convenience and had always liked the doctor there. This visit was my first with the new optometrist, Dr. Johnson. He was friendly, comfortable explaining things to me and did a thorough exam. He was happy to answer my questions and will definitely keep me coming back. Highly recommended! I’ve seen other complaints about the main office but didn’t have any troubles rescheduling my appointment or ordering my contacts.

I have been going there for years. The doctors have always been great. Got a new pair of glasses in 2019 from them and they were great. They got scratched up over the years so I went mid December 2025 for a eye check and ordered a new pair of the same glasses. I picked them up December 22, and on January 11 I noticed both lenses are cracking in the same spot. I did not buy the warranty, and some how this was my fault that my lenses are both cracking in the same spot and was offered 20% off new lenses. So back to the pair from 2019. So buy the warranty or buy from somewhere else.
Would be a 2 star or 1 star rating, however, Dr Johnson is amazing. Very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, very polite, professional, just all around very good Dr! Staff however... not so good. I've worked in customer service and retail, so i know nothings perfect. Bought a pair of glasses out of pocket due to issues with their fax, my insurance info didnt come through. Brought the glasses back due to the lenses werent right and I couldnt see clearly when moving my head. Felt like I was being shamed for returning them " guess we'll just have to throw these away." Turns out the measurements were wrong. I had the glasses turned into reading glasses. Insurance was not billed as I requested. My original receipt shows They refunded the original glasses, but they didnt give me a receipt showing they re-charged me for the reading glasses, which stilll are not right. Been waiting for an hour, since they opened at 9am. Dr Johnson is here...no one else is here. Hopefully the associates that were supposed to be here are ok. Someone finally showed up. Went to get my refund, which I paid with my bank card, which receipt shows ..Refund can only go on a walmart giftcard. Was told to go t I customer service to get it cashed out. She refused. *****tracked down a manager who cashed out the giftcard. He was clearly upset I was interrupting his project. Apologized for the inconvenience, (even though this wasnt my messup). Manager said nothing. Said thank you again... not a word. ******
They do not answer the phone, called twice. First time I called it just rang for 3 minutes before disconnecting then I called customer service and asked if they were open, they said yes and transferred my call. This time after talking to the customer service worker I was waiting while it was just ringing for over 5 minutes. I went into the store the day before to check on some glasses that I had shipped from another store to see if they had come in yet as it had been about 4 business days since they were shipped. My mom works at a different Walmart vision ( the one the glasses were shipped from ) so I have a pretty good general idea of how long this stuff takes them. The lady working was very unprofessional and unwelcoming. No greeting when I walked in, just stared at me blankly. I asked about the glasses politely and she only responded in one worded answers to any of my simple questions. Anyway they hadn’t arrived yet and she said they would only contact me of their arrival if the other store mailed my info with the glasses. (I don’t believe they did) so I was planning to call in instead of actually going in to continue to check on them except that didn’t work because they don’t answer their phone. I don’t think this stores vision center is very good or professional at least compared to the other stores I’ve worked with. Sad to say this also isn’t the first negative experience I’ve had with them.
I had a wonderful experience here! The staff is amazing! They were very helpful and answered all of my questions. My glasses were affordable, there are so many options. The doctor did a spectacular job! I would highly recommend the Walmart vision center to anyone!
