Unfortunately, it's true that an entire office can earn a poor reputation even when the doctor is excellent. Dr. Caloras was kind, attentive, and listened to my concerns. I felt very comfortable with him as my optometrist. Unfortunately, my experience with Maxine in the office has made it impossible for me to trust this practice, and I will not be returning. I had been waiting three weeks for a trial pair of contact lenses, so I called to check on the status. Maxine told me she didn't know why they hadn't arrived, even though she had ordered them herself, and said she would call me back. Later that day, I received a call. After I answered, the first thing she said was, "Yeah, I looked for your stuff, then got busy, and now I'm calling." She never introduced herself or identified where she was calling from, so at first I had no idea who I was speaking with. She then told me they couldn't find my trial lenses but that they had a right lens with the correct prescription and a left lens that was slightly off. While that wasn't ideal, I was willing to work with it because I had a positive experience with Dr. Caloras. I then asked for my contact lens prescription. Maxine immediately responded in a rude, confrontational tone, asking, "What do you mean? What type of prescription?" I explained that I meant the prescription for my contacts and if she needed a brand then the brand I had been waiting for. Her attitude and the way she spoke to me were completely unprofessional and unnecessary. I work in healthcare myself, and I would never speak to a patient—or anyone else—in that manner. When I went to pick up my trial lenses, Dr. Caloras told me that Maxine had said I was unhappy. That wasn't true. I wasn't upset about the delay or the prescription process—I was upset about the way I had been treated. As we were talking, Maxine came out from the back and began saying, "As I told you on the phone..." I stopped her and explained that my issue was not the contact lenses or the prescription. My issue was the disrespectful way she spoke to me. I took my prescription and the trial lenses and left. It's a shame because Dr. Caloras was wonderful, but one employee's behavior completely changed my opinion of the practice. In healthcare, word of mouth matters. Great doctors deserve great staff, and unfortunately, my experience with the office overshadowed the excellent care I received from the doctor.

After only a couple of months the lenses were distorted. Not tinted lenses. Refused to replace the lenses blaming the defect on the way they were cleaned or left in the sun. No warranty. Ridiculous won't be returning and will not refer family or friends.
I love going here, have been going here for many years and everyone that works here is incredible and professional, especially Farhanna and Maxine!
Maxine and the staff are very kind and professional. Maxine made me feel like I was her top priority. Assisting with picking out the frame to fitting them on my face at the completion of my order. This is mine and now my family's place to go for prescription glasses. I highly recommend the Vision Center at Walmart in Monroe NY
Have been to several other high priced places to try to get my daughter glasses. I always return to monroe Walmart. They have a great children’s selection and actually know how to fit glasses to a child’s face. So helpful and the prices are great! So thankful they are around.
