After North Country Eye Associates closed last year with the retirement of two outstanding opthalmologists, Denis Beauvais and Monica Nuyens, many Ogdensburg-area residents, including this reviewer, had to find a new eye care provider. I eventually settled on Center For Sight in Ogdensburg after speaking to others who are patients. Carrissa, the receptionist, welcomed me warmly and handed me the usual stack of "new patient" firms to fill out. Soon, Brandi called me back to an examining room to take more information, and administer a vision test. Next, I was seen by Dr. Debra Koloms and her assistant, Kerry. Dr. Koloms asked about my vision history and ran a couple of tests after using "numbing drops," kept on hand for "blinkers" like me. Finally, I had my eyes dilated and went into another area to wait until my pupils were fully dilated. I was then led into another exam room where Paige took photos of both eyes (technology is great!), and then I saw Dr. Koloms and Kerry again. Everyone was very pleasant and professional, and my first visit went very well. I can recommend the Center For Sight in Ogdensburg to others seeking eye care. The only reason I'm awarding "4-stars" instead of "5-stars" is that I was not offered another medical advancement in the form of "reversal drops" (phentolamine opthalmic solution 0.75%, aka Ryzumvi) after they used mydriatic drops to dilate my pupils. Use of the "reversal drops" greatly speeds up recovery to normal vision and greatly reduces light sensitivity following dilation. Also, I was not introduced to, nor given the chance to talk to the on-site optician about possible new choices in my eyewear. I look forward to meeting her in the future.

I just had 3 brain surgery’s and Went here to get my eyes dilated. The staff was kind expect for one lady with purple hair. Which I was shocked because I’m relatively alteranative looking and wouldn’t expect to be judged by someone who also colors their hair. Anyways.. Waited an hour just to get seen for my 10:15 appointment. Finally get checked in to a room and an older lady (with the purple hair) comes in to do the eye exam. She kinda stared at me a while before asking what my tattoo was and if it had meaning. I told her no I just thought it was cool and she didnt really say anything. Then she comes over to me looks at my other tattoos and proceeds to say “well you have a strange assortment of tattoos”. I was like haha yeah because I couldn’t tell if she was trying to be nice or not. She tells me I have nystagmus in both eyes and basically tells me I’ll have to just get used to it. I thought we were done as she referred me to another doctor, BUT THEN she asks me if I’m losing weight which I tell her I’ve lost some because of the surgery’s but I’m not actually trying to lose weight. I have 20/20 vision but my vision shakes. I asked her what weight had to do with anything and she said it can help vision problems. I have NEVER heard of weight causing vision issues. For context I am overweight at about 190 pounds (female) but not even my primary care is worried about my weight. Anyways I left crying and won’t be going back there.

They just cancelled my appointment a THIRD time. First time the doctor canceled the day of. They only left a voicemail which I didn’t see (email would be nice). I learned about it when I walked in the door to be greeted with “Dr Sanni isn’t here.” Second time, the doctor wasn’t available because he apparently stopped coming to Ogdensburg office. I was disappointed because I liked Dr Sanni the one time I managed to see him. So I switched to another doctor of theirs and whaddya know: another cancellation *the day of.* I’m considering going elsewhere.

When I went there they immediately showed me a picture saying it was my eyes and I had to have these Tixel treatments that I had extreme dry eye disease or damage so they put what he said was 700 degrees of heat on my eye lids in my eyes and charged me $1,450 I paid 100.00 I live on my social security, with in the next few days my eye lids were burned red as could be and I had problems seeing they had already been sending me notifications on how much money I owed them not asking how I was doing. I contacted my eye doctor in Utah which I had visited just before I moved here to Ogdensburg and I have my eye test in my hand he said that there’s no way my eyes are like that in a matter of three years that this company is scamming me for money. So I then went on here and saw what I wrote the first day while I was in their office and I must correct that right now and let people know that most people walking in their door are getting told they have dry eye damage don’t believe them go get a second opinion. I’m going to the BBB now wherever I can to do something about this company. Teri Prescott

This place is terrible. NOT focused on patient care at all. Many of the employees are rude and really don't know what they're talking about. The docs are nice and seem knowledgeable, but are pretty unwilling to help you unless you pay hundreds of dollars for something that would be covered by insurance at any other clinic. Shameful and shady.
