BEWARE IF YOU HAVE ANTHEM BLUE CROSS INSURANCE. In June of 2025 I came in for a routine eye exam. This was my first appointment with Dr. Fouladian. During the exam my main goal was to get a prescription for eye glasses since I was having issues with my ortho-k. Dr. Fouladian asked me if I had dry eyes based off the imaging he took for the eye checkup, and I did say I had some discomfort but it wasn’t bothering me (and I was not seeking any help with it). He offered me some eye drops (I thought out of kindness but later realized it was so the team could manipulate the appointment into a “medical visit”). I sat down afterwards to look at eye glasses. they explained my glasses should be mostly covered by insurance and I purchased a pair. 2 minutes after I called my boyfriend to see how much he paid for eyeglasses at the same spot not too long ago and it was a drastically different price, so I went back to the office to ask why. Apparently my insurance did not cover my glasses as they had said it would, so I asked if I could return the glasses. At this point they were hesitant and saying that there were no returns (but it had literally been less than 5 minutes so I basically begged for an exception since there’s literally no way an order had already been sent off yet). At this point, they decided they could give me a refund for the glasses but only if they could charge me for a medical visit ON TOP OF AN EYE CHECK UP EXAM (apparently eye drops were not free?). I knew I met my medical deductible for the year so I just agreed to this so that I wouldn’t have to pay for the expensive glasses they tried to sell me. Little did I know that I would likely never see that money back and had to fight for almost a year on this issue. Basically this place has tried to convince me that they’re out-of-network (when they are in-network), refused to refund me for several several months, made multiple unsuccessful attempts to fix this with insurance, and placed the entire cost on me, the patient, for a mistake they can’t figure out with insurance (something like they’ve registered an incorrect address with Anthem). They finally agreed to pay me back for the medical visit until they work things out with insurance (after much wasted time and effort on my end). Also, mind you, I’m still paying for the medical visit on top of an eye exam for an appointment that should have just been an eye exam. If he had never taken imaging (which patients pay for and the doctor doesnt really make it clear that imaging is just for medical appointments, which it shouldn’t be anyways), he would have never given me eye drops that I didn’t really care for in the end. This doctor will manipulate you into thinking you’re being “unprofessional” when a patient can discern between a medical appointment and an eye exam. Plus, I should have only been charged for one or the other and not both… This place is just looking for your money and not the patient’s best interests. Would highly not recommend. Lots of other great eye doctors in Westwood.

I had a great experience yesterday at Westwood Eye Center. I walked into the office at 1:59PM and they close at 2PM. The staff went above and beyond! Truly thankful. The lady who helped me out is Sandra I believe. Spectacular optometrist highly recommended!
I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by this westwood eye center. From the very beginning, the entire experience was unprofessional and frustrating. The glass they provided is completely defective and does not function properly at all. Despite multiple attempts to communicate the issue, the company failed to provide any meaningful solution or support. After experiencing ongoing issues, I went to a medical center for evaluation, and they informed me that the glass appeared to be unprofessionally made. This raised serious concerns about the quality of the product provided by the eye center. It is unacceptable that a company would supply a product that does not meet proper standards or function correctly. Instead of receiving a reliable and professionally manufactured product, I was left dealing with defective glass.
Awesome! Carmen helped me get an eye and contacts fitting exam, then got new lenses for my old glasses frames. Super helpful and the doctor was kind and informative. Got a new glasses case too.
I will never be going back. I was a patient for 5 years and used to be happy at this office, until I realized they prioritize profits over patient care. In October 2025, I was fitted for daily contacts and even given samples, but in the end went with monthly lenses instead because of cost. Not long after, I was diagnosed with cancer and spent months in and out of the hospital, severely immunocompromised. After treatment, I called to switch the prescription to daily lenses for basic hygiene and safety—something they had already fitted me for. They approved the switch but ONLY if I bought the contacts directly from them. They refused to release the updated prescription so I could shop around for prices, something that was important after dealing with so much financial stress after dealing with cancer. This was incredibly wrong. Given my health situation, blocking access to a cleaner, safer option unless I purchased through them came across as exploitative and insensitive. I expected a lot more care and professionalism, especially as a patient of 5 years. I will never be going back to this office and encourage patients to find a more compassionate doctor.
