I was transferred to this practice when my long-time eye doctor retired. I have been going to an ophthalmology practice wherever I have lived since I was a small child and I'm now 55. I know how they operate and what to expect. My first visit to this place was the worst experience ever!! Almost 2 hours. Wouldn't do a dilated eye exam or discuss anything medical about my eyes. Only would evaluate me for refill of yearly supply of contact lenses (which I have yet to receive). I was concerned the doc I saw was only an optometrist (OD), not an ophthalmologist, but I saw an OD for a couple years at my previous ophthalmology practice (Shapiro Eye Care). Given they referred me here, I told myself not to be concerned. I skipped dilation at my previous annual eye exam, so I needed one this year. I took the day off work, assuming I wouldn't be able to see all day, and that turned out to be a wasted PTO day. This practice also charged me the wrong copay and wouldn't reverse that charge. I was told I to dispute that charge on my card (which isn't going well). They then expected me to pay an additional (correct) copay! I said no, you can bill me for that. I will NOT be returning. I am seeking a new ophthalmologist.
The doctor took his time made sure he found and looked for everything. Explain things in a way I can understand. I appreciate his help.I could not see very well, and he was able to explain to me on why. His personality was wonderful, and he was easy to deal with
Fantastic office. Dr. Decker is professional, listens, and assists in finding the right solution. His staff in the past Patsy, and on my last visit Lonette are great, in keeping your mind off of everything, making you laugh, but being extremely professional the entire time. Optical staff was wonderful MaryBeth, Cindy E, Amy, John, and all the others in the office at the time. Check in was great as well Prelle was very professional and smiled through her eyes, which set me at ease. Thanks to you all
I have been a patient at the Eye Clinic for many years, gone through many needed treatments, and have a history of eye problems. A Charlotte retina specialist once diagnosed me as "legally blind," but I was lucky to find Baptist Eye Clinic (Dr. Shah, Dr. Burden and others) and finally get the kind of care I needed. I have no doubt my vision is good today because of the excellent care I get at AHWFB Eye Clinic. I wouldn't go anywhere else!
