Although the wait time can vary, the quality of service is very thorough. Dr Akstein takes time to explain current results and reviews past results. He is kind and patient. The front desk can get a bit busy, but the end result is they get the job done. I won't go anywhere else. Thank you Dr Akstein.
Making an appointment is ridiculous. I had at least 2-3 appointments rescheduled “because the doctor wasn’t coming to the McDonough location on that day anymore”. These were appointments made well in advance. Finally got in for an appointment and waited 40 minutes PAST the scheduled appointment time for the doctor to even arrive to the office (literally saw him come in). There is zero respect for anyone else’s time. We get into the room with the doctor for him to act like he wants to be anywhere but there and had zero clue why we were being seen. No bother to read the paperwork we filled out. Some equipment “wasn’t charged” and couldn’t be used during the evaluation. This visit was a complete waste of time and concerns were not addressed…at all. From scheduling to the “care” provided it was a complete cluster. I wouldn’t recommend this practice to anyone.
I have been a patient for about six years. Dr Akstein takes the time to explain exactly what is going on with my eyes. He did several laser treatments on one of my eye and while I was away from Atlanta and had to see another opthalmologist for an emergency issue, that doctor commented that the quality of the laser treatment was outstanding.
I have been following Dr. Akstein since 1985 when he began treating my father. He is an incredibly talented physician. He is caring, attentive, compassionate, and provides the upmost quality medical care. I have seen other physicians over the years, but only because I was forced due to insurance. Each and every time I come running back to Dr. Akstein. There are other physicians in my area, but I drive 30 miles to see him. There is no one I trust more than him.
I received an appointment for my grandma quickly.. my grandma says he was wonderful and a true pleasure.. professional and very knowledgeable.. he was able to refer her asap for additional services and the office was beautiful
