This place has been around forever! I remember my grandmothers coming to this eye office, and they were always so helpful. They have the latest technology and a great selection of options for different budgets. I also really appreciated that no one pressured me into buying designer glasses. I felt like I was given all of my options and was able to make the choice that worked best for me. Overall, it was a great, quick, and stress-free experience!

Great staff and Dr Cinalli is the best. Arianna was so helpful with helping me find just the right frame. Also the lady at the front desk that checks you in and does the test with you, she’s been with Alvernon Optical for years, she is also great! Very thorough and patient. I have been coming to this location for years.
Unfortunately, Not only has their customer service gone down, but they’re quality as well. I’ve been going here since I was a kid over 5 years ! my parents as well are clients here for many years. Recently, I had an experience that made me realize I should take my business elsewhere. I’m really disappointed because I use to recommend others to go here. Recently about a month ago, I took my 1 year old glasses in to get a new frame because the frame broke. They gave me a new frame same day and just swapped out my lenses into the new frame. The lady that had “assisted” me gave me my glasses with one lens popping out saying that they were gonna pop out due to my prescription being higher on my right eye. I didn’t have this issue with my last pair but she told me I just need to pop them back in. I didn’t think it was gonna be an issue till I started wearing them. *this issue with the lens popping out didn’t even occur with my last pair. Not only were they popping out I can hear the glass moving every time I walk on my right side and they feel like they’re about to break whenever I clean them. The lense does pop out when I clean them. So I just went in after work yesterday to see if they can help me out. The lady that “assisted “!me well talked to me because assisting would be helping which she didn’t do. Told me she couldn’t do anything about it that I would have to buy a brand new pair of glasses. Mind you this I just bought these glasses one year ago.. I’ve never had this issue with any products I’ve had bought from them till just now. She told me it’s “wear and tear” which is ridiculous because I didnt have this issue until they swapped out my frame for a new one. The lady told me that I would have to buy new glasses and that my prescription was expired so I have to pay for a whole new prescription, she quoted me $80 for eye exam but then she told me since I was a long-term customer it would be $198. Ridiculous!!!! I told them it’s been a month since they swapped them out and they gave me my glasses just as worse as I brought them in. She told me because my warranty is no longer valid. That “I can’t help you”, that’s stupid. You should still be able to have that customer service to make something right especially giving me my paid product back like that. I’m at the point to take this to the BBB. They only started having this issue when she gave them to me..she even stated that. I wouldn’t recommend going here with the cheap quality and the lack in customer service.
I had an eye exam at Alvernon Optical at Alvernon & 5th yesterday and I will not be going back. Everyone was very friendly, that wasn't a problem. However, I didn't feel like anybody was listening to me, even the doctor. Dr. Jones had me try a new brand of contacts, and despite the fact that it was still blurry after 10 minutes, she kept just telling me that they "would settle". I brought up multiple times that they were a problem and those are still the samples that I left with. I tried to wear them last night and today and they never got better, and were extremely uncomfortable, which is exactly what I told her at the exam. Obviously, she wasn't listening or was just looking to get me in more expensive lenses. After my exam, which was a little chaotic and unorganized, I went out to check out with the staff out there, and was immediately given a high pressure sales pitch that I had to say no to multiple times. I wasn't looking to purchase glasses or contacts that day, I wanted to shop around and make sure I got what I needed. I told her this and yet she continued to apply pressure. Super distasteful. After being pressured to look around and buy something for about 10 minutes, the lady checking me out finally started processing my insurance & payment. I thought everything went okay and I was in the clear, however on my way out to the car I looked closer at my receipt and she charged me for something that my insurance covers 100% (The up close photo of the retinas, I can't remember what it's called). I know it does because the technician who started my appointment looked at my insurance and told me it was covered before I agreed to it. So I went back in and asked what happened. She was obviously mifded, and rudely said that the tech doesn't know anything about insurance. When she looked it up, she saw that the tech had been correct. If I hadn't looked closely at my receipt, I never would have known and they would have gotten away with charging me an extra $40. They processed a refund and I left. I ended up getting my glasses from Edmonds, Husz & Pemberton Eye Center, who didn't pressure me at all when I walked in to browse. I got my contacts at Costco for $100 cheaper than I would have been able to get them at Alvernon Optical. Save your time and your money and go literally anywhere else.
Dr Fuhrman is knowledgeable and did a thorough examination of my eyes. He determined that my vision improved and wrote me a weaker prescription. The Staff are friendly and patient. They cheerfully helped me find the right frames and lenses. Thank you Alvernon Optical!
