I went in March 11, 2026 for a eye exam and I asked about getting my eyes dilated because it had been over 5 years since I'd had a proper exam and I was flat out ignored and told no you don't need it. Got the exam and got my glasses a little close to 2 weeks later, as soon as I put them on it felt like someone punched me in the eye. Obviously it was the wrong prescription. I did say something and was told its normal you just need to adjust. I took my glasses home and tried for about 3 or 4 days and I had headaches, nausea, and my eye just throbbed. I then went back to express my concerns and wanted a new exam done with the dilation. Finally after having to spend days advocating for myself i finally got the appointment. That resulted with a whole new prescription in opposite eyes. Waited for a week or so for my new lens with the new prescription finally they come in but only 1 pair come in so I had to wait another week for the others. They finally come and the associates tell me they came scratched you have to wait for new lens. Finally another week later I have my husband go and get them and they gave him the scratched lens. I get a call after he comes home for them to inform me they didn't replace the lens and id have t go back again and get them put in. That is today April 16th, I had to back and forth a total of 9 times. And each time i was either ignored about my concerns, or just ignored in general. I asked for a refund honestly for the treatment, my time, and the whole experience. Was told no I could have store credit, I said no Because i had made my mind up I wouldn't be coming back and then told I could call customer to get the refund. Tried that they asked for what happened I told them from start to finish. Was told they'd call me back in 30 minutes so they could "coordinate" with the store about my refund. 30 minutes or so i get the call they regret to inform me i can't have a refund without returning the glasses mind you I do need them to see and I paid extra for blue light lens and got 3 pair so i spent a good amount of money. Moral of this don't go here if you want to be properly treated and actually heard about your concerns.
The Customer Service Representative was very professional, and every time I asked a question, she responded with a wonderful and positive attitude. Angie was courteous, friendly, and extremely helpful. I truly appreciate when people go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. She did a great job, and it was a pleasure working with her.
I went to American best to get my glasses because my eyes have been hurting wanted to check them to see if my eyes were okay I already had my old eye glasses but I think for some reason they didn’t have my prescription on them from when I got them last year in Miami I’m from Miami but I didn’t want to go to another company so I went to to location I’m very happy the staff is very respectful! And the eye doctor was funny and nice and he got me right I love my glasses I picked out my prescription is good my eyes feel good as before with my old glasses I felt like I couldn’t not see but my glasses nice quality is great and I’m going to bring my kids there so they can get glasses there too thank you American best!
Wife came for her first ever eye exam. The doctor just did his thing and said done bye. Didn't explain to her the results. Didn't tell her what she had, if she needed glasses or anything in relation to her sight health. We had to hear it from the employee that sells you the eyewear what she even had and what kind of glasses she needed, which is something you want to hear from your doctor in case of follow-up questions or better explanation -- vendors are not doctors and should not be giving health advice and results. Absolutely rude, dismissive and bad experience. Super disappointed.
