First of all, I was pleased with their friendliness, their welcoming demeanor and helpfulness of their Front Staff. It did not stop there, my whole experience continued throughout my examination and it was quite pleasant and welcoming. The doctor was very thorough and explained everything to me. Upon his conclusion, his Assistant was just as thorough to explain what my vision was, my options for surgery or the kind of glasses I would need, and the cost of everything. I was quite pleased with Eye Associates of Fort Myers. It was my first time there, but I highly recommend them.

If I could give this office no stars I would. I called this morning regarding an appointment that my primary doctor scheduled upon speaking to someone at the front desk (who refused to give her name) was just awful and undeniably rude. She hastily started overtalking me in a very condescending tone, not even taking time to pause and listen with intent to see what the issue was. I asked her why she was being so rude and she immediately hung up the phone. I called back to speak to the administrator to report her behavior and got (Amy) who said she was the front desk supervisor ( her tone didn’t sound any better from the previous receptionist) and I told her I requested to speak to Megan who is the administrator. She kind of chuckled and placed me on hold, got back on the line shortly after and said that Megan had just stepped out. I left my contact information with her and hopefully I will receive a call back (if she’s even given the message). This office needs to train their receptionists better on how to speak to patients and most importantly how to be professional. It is unacceptable and I will not go to this office for any eye exam if their staff is this unprofessional, disrespectful and rude. If their calls are recorded, I suggest they pull them and use them for better training and also listen to how rude their receptionists are. While I cannot speak to the quality of the doctors, my experience with the office staff was disappointing. First impressions are lasting, and unfortunately, the service fell short of basic, respectful treatment. I believe in treating others with kindness, which was lacking here.
I would highly recommend Dr. Stephen Smith as his experience, professionalism, kindness, and empathy are top notch! You won't find another eye doctor that treats you like you matter and not just "another patient." His office staff are all so professional and kind. I can't say enough about how much me and my family all appreciate Dr. Smith and his staff at Eye Associates of Fort Myers.
I had my first consultation with Dr. Jessica Cameron, and everything initially went well. However, my experience with the front desk afterward was very disappointing. I called to confirm my scheduled appointment, and I was told that I had “lost” my appointment. I apologized for missing it, even though I never received any call or notification from the office. My contact information has not changed, and they also have my email on file, yet no confirmation or reminder was ever sent. The receptionist, whose name I believe is Crissy (or something similar), responded in a very rude and dismissive manner. From the beginning of the call, there was no greeting—no “hello” or “good afternoon.” When I explained that I never received a call, she said in an annoyed tone, “Well, we called you and you didn’t answer,” and also admitted that no email was sent. I then explained that one of my lenses had broken and that I urgently needed new glasses, and I asked if there was any way she could help me get an earlier appointment. She bluntly told me there was nothing available until June, without offering any alternatives or showing any empathy. While I understand that appointments can be missed, the lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic courtesy was unacceptable. A little kindness goes a long way, especially in a healthcare setting. Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression.
Run awayDon't walk away from this factory long-standing patient. They close their office in north fort.Myers, they reconfirm my appointment.I drive from North Fort Myers to the Fort Myers office because they closed the local office to me. I wait to be called, I give them my insurance information. They no longer accept my insurance. They never checked to verify my insurance at the time. The appointment was made, had they had done that. It would have saved me a trip However, with my advantage plan, I am still entitled to an eye exam, but I guess they don't take that either so a day was wasted.Because somebody could not do their job
