My partner and I bought two pairs of glasses each. To which I was told AFTER the examination that I would have to pay extra for my particular prescription. Turned out to be over $160 for something advertised as different. It should be included that particular prescriptions don't apply. The person who also examined my eyes also didn't dialate and check on my astigmatism (as paid for and agreed on) and when I told her the choices looked the same to me, I was told I "had to pick one". It was honestly the most unpleasant eye Dr visit I've experienced, and I get my eyes dilated when I go. She also wouldn't listen to my concerns about my vision. And when we got our glasses, both sets were wrong and no one would return our calls for over the 30 day mark, so they wouldn't have to be responsible for them. On top of that, I still get messages from America's best, telling me to follow up. No response is a response. I will not be following up and wasted my time and money for something Walmart could have done better. I'm disappointed because I never had any issues with Americas best until this store. Do better. Hire people who actually care about their job.

Paid 450.00 dollars for transition glasses! Picked them up last week, the won't transition while I'm driving! That is my work! I drive!!!and I told the girl at the time that I needed the darkest tint! Well overall I was happy with them but when driving in the sun I still couldn't see ! Not dark enough! So today I took them back, the girl SAM!!!! WAs EXTREMELY RUDE!and said, some glasses won't transition behind car windows!!!!!!! REALLY!!!!! I told her repeatedly that I was happy with them except they just weren't dark enough! She kept saying your saying WE DID SOMETHING WRONG!!!!! REALLY! So needless to say I got my money back!! Last year I had an issue, no fault to them, doc decided after I ordered that I needed surgery! Returning them was not an issue! Will NEVER GO BACK THERE!!!! They need to hire professionals, not some little wannabees!!!!
I’ve been using America’s Best for about six years now, usually at the University location, and I’ve always had a good experience there. This time, I decided to go to the Cortez location because it was closer, and unfortunately, I regret that decision. I’ve worn contacts since I was 16 years old and am now 32. For all 16 years, I have had an astigmatism in my right eye. After my exams with America’s Best, I typically order my first two boxes of contacts directly through them because of the 10% discount they offer. After that, I order through 1-800 Contacts. Throughout the past six years, my right eye prescription has always been marked for astigmatism. At this most recent visit, I was told my prescription had not changed and everything looked fine. I ordered my contacts, which arrived quickly, and initially I was impressed. However, when I checked the boxes, I noticed the right eye contacts were not labeled for astigmatism. I then reviewed the printed prescription and saw the astigmatism correction was completely missing. I called the office and was told to come back in so they could look into it. I even brought an old contact box with me to show exactly what prescription I normally wear. Unfortunately, the interaction after that was incredibly disappointing. The employee I spoke with immediately became defensive and dismissive instead of simply reviewing the concern professionally. I was told that according to their system, I had “never” had an astigmatism during the years I had been seen there. That statement made no sense considering my contact history and prior prescriptions. She even showed me records on the screen claiming my previous visits did not include an astigmatism prescription. After returning home, I found a previous prescription from America’s Best written two years ago that clearly showed an astigmatism correction for my right eye. Because of that discrepancy, I genuinely question whether my records were altered or inaccurately documented in the system, which is extremely concerning when dealing with medical information. What upset me most was not even the prescription mistake itself — mistakes happen. It was the attitude and lack of professionalism when I tried to calmly address the issue. Had someone simply acknowledged that there may have been an error and worked with me to correct it, this review likely would not exist. I’ll continue using America’s Best, but I will personally be returning to the University location moving forward.
I was curious about the potential cost for my glasses so I asked what coatings my glasses have and what it would cost to purchase glasses like what I currently wear. The employee, Sam, was so rude and disrespectful she said that I should know what I am wearing and that she couldn't help me if I didn't know. When I asked about the potential cost she told me with attitude that the cost should not concern me because my vision was more important than my budget. I have never felt so disrespected in my life, she was hostile and shamed me for no reason. I don't know how this place stays in business with customer service like this.
I’ve been going here since they first opened the location and it was always a great experience. Well this weekend I went for my 1pm appt and was 11mins late due to an accident. And they told me that I would have to reschedule my appointment. As if when I go I’m not already sitting waiting to be seen for over that amount of time. I had literally drove 45mins to the location because of their excellent service. I’ve never been to a facility that doesn’t offer a grace period. Needless to say I’ll NEVER return to that location!
