I want to give it more stars because everyone else was great but Alondra really ruined my experience and is the reason Im not coming back. She truly hates her job and shouldn't be there. If you ask her any questions, its a huge inconvenience. If she has to look up an answer or ask a coworker, its a huge inconvenience. When I first walked in she was annoyed. I asked if they take walk ins she said "have you been here before" I said "yes, but im not sure if I need to do another exam" "*sighs* have. You. Been. Here. Before" I repeated "yes" "the doctor is at lunch you'll have to come back" "okay I can do that" "*sighs* what's your name" "*gives her name* do the promotions only apply to new clients" "*sighs* no. What's your name" *gives name again* Sets up appointment and comes back. Im trying to figure out what pairs I want "Are these the only promotions you have going on right now?" "*sighs* the only promotions I know are the ones on the signs. *points at the signs*" "oh okay" "I guess I can look up more but you need to tell me what you want" "im not sure what I want until I know what the promotions are" "*sighs* I can look them up. *stares at me* do you want me to do that right this second" "I can look around while you look them up" I come back to the desk after 10min "What glasses do you want" "Im still not sure. I picked these pairs but I want the meta and until I know what the promotions are, Im not sure whether to buy new glasses or just buy the meta" "You have to pay for the exam on the meta" "So the exam is free with these pairs?" "Yes and it'll be $99.99 for both" Total came out to $150 for both, I didnt need new glasses I came for the exam to get meta prescription, but figured if it was a good deal Id just get more glasses. I found out after paying the eye exam would have only been $80 for the meta. I would have just done that.... We never got to approach the difference between metas because everytime I tried to ask any questions, her answer was always "theyre all Gen 2 are you going to buy them or not" by the 4th time she repeated that answer, I gave up, bought everything and left. She said they dont do commission and I hope thats true because I really dont want her to get paid on her nasty customer service.

I am appalled at the absolutely poor service and I unprofessionalism that I received at this location. I’ve shopped with Americas Best for over 2 decades at 2 other locations and never have received such poor service! The rep Eril is rude and won’t take responsibility for the mistake of losing my ordered glasses or probably not ordering them at all. She and her coworkers were unapologetic and tried to make it seem that I ordered the wrong glasses which I didn’t and couldn’t have because I ordered them from Eril in the store. Then Eril finally admitted they’ve been having problems with orders being lost or mixed up with other customers. Unbelievable! Talk about gaslighting! Then to top it off she charged me for anti-reflective lenses when I specifically told her not to. What a rip off and fraud! Then I call customer care and they are absolutely no help. Maybe Americas Best should have their customer service located in America! Fair warning DON’T SHOP AT THE SOUTHLANDS LOCATION!!!! Unless you want poor or no customer service at all!
I used to love this location and even recommended it to others, but my most recent experience was very disappointing. The staff had trouble finding my account and insurance, which resulted in confusion because I apparently had two accounts that I was never aware of. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the doctor was dismissive of my concerns and blamed me for the confusion. A couple of months after my appointment, I called to have my contact lens prescription sent to me, since I didn’t receive it at the time of my appointment. The representative whom I talked to gave conflicting explanations about why I couldn’t receive it. After several minutes of going back and forth and basically arguing over why I wasn’t allowed to get a copy of my prescription for which I paid for, he finally said I could go and pick it up. After the frustrating call, I ended up calling a different location, where they clearly explained the mishap that happened and were able to print me a copy. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced me that I will no longer be returning to this location.
I visited the Southlands Mall location in Aurora today hoping to get assistance with a broken pair of frames, and I am incredibly disappointed by the lack of customer service. Upon entering, the two employees at the front desk whom were on their personal phone NOT HELPING ANYONE simply stared at me without greeting me. When I explicitly asked for help, I was flatly told "no." To make matters worse, after leaving the empty store, I attempted to call back to speak with a manager literally the second i walked out the door. The line was intentionally set to busy, despite the fact that there were no other customers in the building when I left. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I will be contacting corporate offices directly to ensure this is addressed.
I wasn’t going to write a review but yesterday I got off of work at 6:30 PM and sped all the way to the establishment and I got there at 6:49 PM and I got to the door at 6:50 and it was completely black with no one inside. They are supposed to stay open until 7 PM and I was already appalled because the new hire manager lady When I sat down before my exam before she even started, I asked her how much the exam was and she said free. So when the exam was indeed not free, it was $69 plus my glasses and then I couldn’t even get my glasses when I went to get them. Completely unacceptable. I probably won’t be doing business with them again after I go pick up my glasses.
