In January 2026 I had an appointment because I wanted glasses. When I came to my appointment I was asked if I wanted contacts as well and I declined letting them know that I wanted to wait, the same question was asked during the exam by the doctor and after the exam when it came to pay. 3 times I was asked if I wanted contacts and each time I told them I wanted to wait. At the end of April I went in person to see about getting contacts under the impression that all I had to do was order them as my exam was 3 months prior. Upon arriving I was informed that I needed an appointment because my appointment in January was only for glasses… this was frustrating and inconvenient. Why would I be asked 3 times if I wanted contacts if my appointment was only for glasses? Well anyways, I scheduled my appointment for the next day. I show up, I’m waiting in the lobby and an employee approaches me saying that my insurance won’t cover the cost of my contacts until 2027. I told her that was fine and I’d just self pay for the contacts and then she proceeds to tell me that the cost for my exam is $120 and when I asked she said that I can’t use my insurance for the exam and then self pay for the contacts so I left. No one informed me of this so now atp I’ve wasted 2 days in a row. Later on I called and spoke with the assistant manager and she told me that I CAN use my insurance for the exam and then self pay for to contacts.. Eventually, I rescheduled my appointment and got a trail pair of contacts. 4 weeks ago I placed the order for my contacts, waiting on a call that they’re ready to picked up. And by no surprise at all, no one called. I called myself and was told they they’re ready to be picked up. The lack of communication is baffling, you’re either told something different by everyone or left clueless in general.

I spent hundreds of dollars here on a new pair of frames, only to have them literally fall apart within two weeks. The screws and plate came out, making the glasses unwearable. When I brought them back, instead of acknowledging the defect and offering a direct replacement or repair, they forced me to use my one-time warranty to cover the fix. It is unacceptable that a premium-priced product failed in 2 weeks, and it's even more insulting that the store won't stand behind what they sell without docking my warranty. If you want quality frames and a business that actually values its customers after the sale is made, go elsewhere. I feel completely screwed over.
When I walked in, I was greeted warmly, which made me feel welcome. However, when I approached the reception area, the employee I believe was the manager appeared to have an unprofessional attitude. She was directing other employees while laughing on her phone, which gave the impression that customer service was not a priority. This negatively affected my overall experience.
The eye exam itself was great - the doctor (Jesse Brewster) was efficient, respectful, and very professional. The part that went wrong for me was after the exam. I had misunderstood the conversation about the 5-day contact trial and thought I would be taking trial lenses home that day. When I brought it up to the doctor as we were walking to what I thought to grab the trials, rather he was walking me to the front to finish up with payment. The doctor repeated what he had said, but the tone felt a little dismissive and just rudish when he added “we just talked about it. The way he said it. I kind of tried to explain that I just really didn’t understand . There was no smile from him. No that’s OK etc.. I mean come on. We’ve all have had that customer service where they don’t make you feel like you did something wrong. He was serious and seem bothered. He gave me America’s best free trial to take. He opened it for me and said whatever he said and slipped away it was just bare. He just needed to get back to his room, I guess. He left me feeling like crap. I know I have ADHD but that interaction really highlighted for me “how bad” “it is” I think he just really needs to understand that not all brains work the same. I literally did not understand the way he explained it. I process information differently. It doesn’t help that I’m kind of going through a lot right now and running on one hour sleep. I just genuinely didn't understand. I’m really tired of people. I really am. I try to correct myself in as much as I’m able in my part as a human. The girl who attended me after she was nice but I honestly was off with a one hour sleep and whatever, I’m going through. and I don’t think I’ve ever experienced this before, but at the end she kept giving me a weird look. I don’t know if she knew she was doing that. I think it was subconscious. I was kind of mumbling. It was kinda like a little movie scene with somebody looks at you like you’re off anyways I will say that Lindsey and I forgot the other girls name the receptionist and the one who brought me down to the first room. They were super super nice so sweet. I just should’ve told him how he made me feel but then most likely I’d be one of those clients. Life is not about just business. Life is deeper than getting people in and out and going back to your little office space it’s about just being nice that’s it, but you can’t do that if I guess you don’t like your job or whatever his reason for dealing with it so eh. I might come back and fix writing on this review. lol. Like it matters. I’ve taken enough time. I really wish I would’ve just made it known to him. A lot of times I do. I just didn’t have the strength today. I let him push me. 🤷🏻♀️ You know, now that I’m remembering, the last doctor at America’s best was a young guy. He was actually nice just like this one respectful but I remember something about the atmosphere was just something was off. I could see that he was doing everything slightly quicker and kind of maybe even like “cutting off parts of the exam” I mean not really they have to go through a process I get it. But it just seemed that way it was super quick, but it just felt like he wanted to hurry up and give me going out of the room not because of me but because of him as if he needed his space and time so I don’t know if this is something common with America’s best with their doctors? But I had been coming to America’s best for a bit. These are the only two situations. Everybody else has been normal whatever
It was an awful experience! Not only are the prices far from competitive, but the staff was completely unprofessional and unable to answer even the simplest questions. I spent 30 minutes trying to order contact lenses for my daughter. Miranda or Sandra (she doesn't want to say her name, and her colleague put me on hold on the phone and doesn't want to provide her name, either) repeatedly attempted to place the order but was unable to complete it. Throughout the entire process, she kept asking others for help. In the end, she laughed and suggested that I place the order online myself! I was shocked by the lack of professionalism, knowledge, and customer service. This was a complete waste of my time, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
