AMERICA'S BEST – SUMMARY OF RECURRING PRODUCT FAILURES I have been an America's Best customer for approximately 5–7 years and have experienced repeated manufacturing defects, product failures, and inconsistent customer service across two separate purchases. FACTS • First purchase: Buy-one-get-one glasses required four attempts before both pairs were manufactured correctly. • Multiple remake appointments resulted in hundreds of miles of unnecessary travel, with approximately 90–100 miles per round trip. • Second purchase: Approximately $500 in progressive glasses and $146 in computer glasses. • Progressive lenses were manufactured incorrectly twice. • One lens repeatedly fell out of the frame despite multiple repair visits. • Rather than replacing the defective frame, lenses were repeatedly recut and reinstalled into the same frame. • I was initially told a refund would not be a problem, but after driving to the store I was told the glasses were too old for a refund. • The frame ultimately failed completely when the temple arm detached during normal use without being dropped or damaged. • I was then informed the warranty had expired, the frame was discontinued, replacement parts were unavailable, and I would likely need to purchase entirely new glasses. BOTTOM LINE Over two purchases, I experienced: • Multiple prescription manufacturing errors • Repeated lens retention failures • Premature frame failure • Numerous unnecessary trips and expenses • Conflicting information regarding refunds and warranties • No meaningful resolution despite repeated defects I have worn glasses for decades and have had pairs last twenty years or more. I have never experienced this level of recurring quality issues with what are essential medical devices and am now facing the prospect of spending another approximately $600 for replacement glasses after barely more than a year of ownership.

I recently had an eye exam and purchased my new eyeglasses, Tiffany Suzuki was absolutely fabulous. She not only handled my preliminary visual acuity, retinal imaging, and visual field screenings. After I was done with the Dr., she assisted me with choosing my frames. She is very knowledgeable and professional. Her attention to detail and personal assistance was top notch. Highly recommend.
Initial appointment: 4/22/26 Date to receive glasses at these latest: 5/7/26 It is 5/8/26 and i have my glasses now. I called twice, once 4/27/26 and once 4/28/26 to see if i could get my glasses back faster. I was experiencing headaches. They told me no, i had to wait until 5/7/26 but if they came on earlier they would contact me. 5/7/26 rolled around and no contact. I called today and i was told my two frames were available. When i arrived, the paper said the glasses had been at the store since 4/27/26, the first time i called to complain of my vision. When i asked why they didn’t contact me, i was told “ looks like we dropped the ball!”. These are glasses. That i use to see. And drive. And live. And they did not contact me once to let me know they arrived. Heather, you should be let go.
I had a great experience at this eye doctor. Everyone was very kind and helpful. I have difficulty with mobility and they were very patient. Tiffany and Shelby were absolute angels! I love the frames they helped me pick! I will definitely be coming back next year!
Ok I just got back in town and I needed a eye exam so I called America’s best which is where I DID go every year to get new contact SO this year when I called today a lady in the Plainfield Indiana named McKayla was the lady name that told me even though my insurance has changed she wouldn’t tell me what my new insurance would cover without me being there in person so I ask her you won’t me to drive 32 miles just so you can see me in person and setup a appointment and drive back again to get a exam THATS it for me if I could give them a zero I would that is the worst customer service out there period so I told her I would have to go to a different doctor and she said ok that’s fine OMG get some help would ya !! Well after this post I got a email saying that they were going to forward this review to the General Manager and they would be giving me a call to help work this issue out. Yeah well I never heard anything from them and I’m not surprised at all.
