America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

I was overdue for an exam and tired of glasses. I want contacts. Unfortunately this was not a good experience with Dr. B. I was barely greeted before she bluntly declared over and over "You are not a good candidate for contacts"- without explanation. Then after I asked why she told me they will be blurry and wont work. Then told me that I need a specific type that are thicker and more expensive. Contradictory explanations of they wont work vs they can work but they cost more money - which was it actually? Then without getting final confirmation she just ordered the trial lenses while explaining the follow up exam costs additional. And at that point I felt trapped. She then offered insight on what to expect and when i asked follow up questions she swiftly replied they will handle all that and rushed me to the front. By the time I got to the front I was so frustrated and unhappy with the experience. Thankfully, T gave me reassurance, validated my experience and worked to give me information for the trial run on contacts, cost and expectations. Ironically I chose this location due to good reviews so I was blindsided by how awful it went. Hoping it gets better when I have to go back for the contact fitting that is locked in.

I’ll never go back to the Mentor location. The prices weren’t the issue but the staff treating you like you don’t belong there is the issue. The optometrist was great but that front office needs help. I wasn’t offered anything extra for my glasses. Just gave me the price of my glasses and tried to rush me out. I’m not sure if me not having vision insurance was the problem but I certainly didn’t feel comfortable like they were treating everyone else. I went in thinking I was going to spend $600 for my glasses but ended up spending $200 and that’s because I had to find the laminate sign to pick what I wanted. Nothing was offered. The receptionist was rude, no one offered to help me pick frames, no one asked me if I needed anything extra for my glasses and I just had to call to find out my glasses has been in the office for a couple of days and no one has called. So my people of color, you’re better off going to mayfield or just another establishment because Mentor will make you feel like you don’t belong.

I had such a great experience here! Trish was absolutely amazing from start to finish. She helped me pick out my glasses and was so patient, kind, and knowledgeable throughout the entire process. She really took her time helping me find frames that fit my face and style perfectly and never made me feel rushed. She also checked me out at the end and was genuinely so sweet and professional. Customer service like hers really stands out. I’m so happy with my glasses and will definitely be coming back!

This was a great experience for me from start to end. The front desk staff was very friendly and the young lady who fitted my glasses was very nice as well. Dr. Lange is without a doubt the best eye doctor I've ever had. He was very thorough and got my eye prescription right on. I would highly recommend this facility for eye care.

Great experience today, getting my vision tested for new glasses by Dr. Michelle and frames chosen with the help of Adam who took the time to patiently explain various details to me about the frames and lenses and options. This is a place that really cares about their customers!
