I have been going here for the past 3 yrs and this is my encounter : to get new contacts and glasses first they never placed the order for my glasses but on top of that the contacts were no use to me because I couldn’t see out of them so my son made me return them because it was an on going issue with this location now here’s several issues : 1. The prescription for my contacts was obviously wrong 2 they never order my glasses 3. I used care credit for my purchase and was told that day that the money had been replaced back on my card the same day now this was in 2003-2024 I just found out that my credit is now bad with care credit because American Best They did not put the money back on my card it took them over a year why did it take a whole year ? when I was reassured that it was done the same day I would have never known this, until I went to have dental work done and was denied credit due to their negligence not only has this effected my credit it also kept me from obtaining the dental work that I needed and still need DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION !! not only are they unprofessional no one seems to know which end is up I say this because of the countless issues I have experienced You may ask yourself why did I keep going back ( INSURANCE ) So when I called about this issue no one could give me an answer, on why the money was credited back to my account a year later I also just found out that when they did my last eye exam 5-21-2005 exactly a year yesterday they really messed up!! they did not see or find the cataract in both eyes and my new eye Dr said the should have saw it for as bad as it is and now I have to have eye surgery on both eyes so viewers you be the judge??? You guys need more experience employees because now I’am left with a decision who do I contact next ?? I will update After my 2 hour consultation with the eye surgeon So please do your homework check reviews Before you see anyone who can ultra your life!!

The eye exam was very thorough and the prescription really enhanced my vision. The selection process for creating my glasses was great. My only negative is when I picked up the glasses. They just handed them to me and ask what kind of case I wanted. So I start wearing them and the stems are more of a V shaped than square to the frames. They fall off my face. When I went to have them adjusted I felt very rushed and like it was an imposition. She bent the ear pieces so tight they dig into my ear and said that was all she could do. She said the frames couldn’t be adjusted any further. I said that was sad that I spent the money on these because I can’t wear them. She ignored the comment and took them and bent the ear piece some more. She handed them back and I was dismissed as she apparently had something really important to get back too. I left felling a bit angry. I tried to wear the new glasses but they hurt my ear so I am back with my old glasses. Poor customer service once you paid.
This was by far the WORST experience ever at this America’s Best location, especially with the general manager, Jennifer. A displaced student was referred to this location through her school and provided a letter for a vision assistance program that was supposed to cover an eye exam and glasses. Instead of being treated with kindness or professionalism, she was judged, talked about by staff members, and made to feel completely beneath them because of her situation. Employees openly questioned the legitimacy of the school’s letter and even stated that the school “shouldn’t be referring these types of kids here,” which was disgusting, disrespectful, and extremely unprofessional. When the situation was addressed, Jennifer came from the back rolling her eyes and immediately began accusing the school of writing “fake letters.” However, when asked if the program actually existed, she admitted that it did. Despite this, she continued trying to embarrass and dismiss the student in front of others. Jennifer then directly told the student she “didn’t qualify,” even though the referral and paperwork came directly through the school’s displaced student program. The lack of empathy, compassion, and professionalism shown toward a teenager seeking help was honestly disturbing. No apology was given by anyone in the store. Instead, the student was left feeling humiliated and looked down on for needing assistance. No young person should ever be treated like they are less important because they come from a difficult situation. This location made that student feel ashamed for asking for help she was approved to receive. Would absolutely NOT recommend this location to anyone, especially displaced students, uninsured families, or teenagers seeking assistance. The staff — especially Jennifer — seriously need training on professionalism, respect, and basic human decency.
I am very disappointed! I had heard from word of mouth about what a decent, accommodating and reasonable establishment it is! I made an appointment online, which I loved, and got a text acknowledging receipt, as a result I was to fill out a questionnaire prior to appointment… I did as asked and I regret every minute of my appointment!!!! Devastating! Beware: not what it’s cracked up $400 plus for me…. Huh??
What happened to this place ? This used to be the most professional and reliable place to go for great quality eye care, now I can’t even get staff to follow through with what they say. I am glad I asked for a copy of my prescription because I’m going online to order a pair of glasses and contacts. Paid for nothing but a run around and headache. This is really upsetting.
