UPDATE: They gave me my appointment back. America’s Best needs to give incentives for more optometrists to actually want to work for them. It’s insane what this staff has to endure from failure on America’s Best to find qualified doctors who want to work. I took my frustrations out on the staff & that was wrong & I apologized & they still decided to serve me b/c they understand that customers have the right to be upset about the wait times but also it’s not their fault! Please be nice to these ladies! I feel horrible for blowing up on them. This was not in my character at all & I apologized even after they serviced me. Lesson learned! Eat before my appointment, lol. I am only keeping this review at a one star for America’s Best, not the staff! UPDATE: I came back with my Chick-fil-A, only for the receptionist to try to tell me that I can’t bring food back. I told her I’ve been here since 1pm & I am bringing my food. I wouldn’t had to go get food if my appointment was honored in the first place. I get back & the lady doing the pre-tests tells me the optometrist went to lunch. They cancelled my appointment as well. So now I waited for nothing. The wait time is horrible. I had an appointment at 1pm. It’s now 2:30pm & I’ve only been seen by the check-in person. I understand that there is only one doctor, but when people make an appointment, that should be honored. The Saturdays are likely to be the busiest days & to only have one optometrist is insane! I am in the drive thru at Chick-fil-A as I type this b/c I wasn’t expecting to be at an eye appointment all day! I’m starving! It’s almost like the receptionist decided to book everyone at the same time. I’m not sure what’s happening. This is absolutely unacceptable & I’m stuck here for one more year b/c I already paid for the eye care club.

The experience was great my first time going. However l couldn't get my glasses due to my insurance out of network. Yet Pasty was great very energetic and advise me to go where my insurance is taken. Go to Pasty she will try her best to get what you need.
The only reason why I’m going to give it two stars is because Marisol and Victoria’s customer service was so on point. Even the doctor was wonderful. But to be there for 3 hours is crazy. My mom and I had appointments at 11 and 11:50A it is 2:15P and I’m still waiting on my mom. I see two exam rooms but there’s only one doctor. America’s Best is a multi-million dollar company. Not sure what the issue is at this location, as when I was in Dallas, the Wheatland location didn’t have this problem. I’m assuming it’s a managerial over-site issue either at the store or regional level.
Rude staff I stood for almost 40 minutes before I realized there was a seated waiting area on my own. The two ladies up front were too worried about a giveaway for work than assisting their customers. There was a helpful gentleman who assisted me before he left for his break and that’s about it When it came time to check out and pay (I had done the $95 deal I’m a single working mom and that’s what I could afford) they tried to charge me over $350 dollars When I asked why she said I needed better glasses than that plan I then told her I did not have the funds to do that. She responded with “welll plastic isn’t going to do anything for your eyes but okay” rolled her eyes at me didn’t say another word the remainder of my visit And then forgot to give me my prescription because of her bad attitude Another team member had to flag me down before I walked out without it. I will never be back other nor tell anyone to visit this location Not to mention my appointment was at 4:30 I wasn’t done until almost 7..: they close at 6. What’s that about?
My faith in humanity was restored today with the customer service given to me today by Raquel. I attempted to stump even the most experienced employee that has to navigate the optometry nuances of the Texas medical Board… However I was no match for Raquel. Not only did she quickly identify what problem was, my potential options, BUT she went above and beyond to help me with a few of the more precarious steps. She didn’t get a raise by helping this nurse be able to see clearly around Corpus, no medals or awards… but she changed my life. And that’s worth something.
