It’s been a couple of years since I had my eyes examined and I have gone to America’s Best over the years. But —This was my first time to this one on Newport Highway. Everyone ( front desk personnel ) there greeted me with kindness and a helpful manner. I had an appointment and it was on time. I met with Dr Nguyen and she was thorough and had a great demeanor. She spent time with me and on any questions I had during my eye exam. Then I sat down with Jesse, and then Ava helped out also, to choose my glasses. Both of these employees were wonderful, friendly, helpful and they just gave all around great customer service.. 😀 👊👍. I had fun choosing my glasses and the special lens protection packages with Jesse and Ava. They are excellent with their customers and knowledgeable about the products. They made it fun and answered any and all questions I had. They looked for special discounts and searched my insurance for all the discounts. I appreciate how they made it comfortable to choose my glasses. I will always choose America’s Best because of the service I received here. Especially this store. Thank you.

When I first got there for my appointment was great, got me in and out pretty fast. However after I needed to find some new frames (mine had broken in half). Once I found frames I was sat down with an employee that wasn’t all that pleasant, he talked extremely quietly, didn’t seem like he wanted to deal with me as a customer and had a very lazy way of explaining things. He did let me know my glasses should be done on the 28th, two weeks after my eye appointment. So I was kinda frustrated with that wait time but understood they need to ship it in. Now come to the 28th I have received no calls, so I gave them a call just wondering if I could find out where my glasses are, I was greeted by a not very nice lady over the phone. I asked “ hi I was told my glasses are supposed to be in today but haven’t gotten a call, I’m just wondering if I could know what time they will be in?” She replied with “uhmmmm ha well no we actually get our orders at the end of the day so if I were you I’d call back Thursday.” Me being confused about how that makes sense asked “then why was I told today?” She replied with “ I don’t know we have to process our glasses”. So obviously there is misinformation being told to customers and the attitudes/tones from the employees made it very hard to enjoy and want to return. Hopefully I get my glasses within the week.

I just left this place about a half hour ago, and I am still smiling from ear to ear! Finally! A place that cares I mean, they really do folks. I don’t have eyeglass insurance, so I thought I would come in and take advantage of their deal that they’re offering right now. With that said, I came in with doubts… How much are they gonna charge me? How much are they going to try to overprice me? Yada yada yada. None of that happened! And I walked out still having a lot of money left over in my pocket! The people that work there are simply amazing and I adore them. JEANNA, PEACHES, KYRSTAL and REAGHAN are all just wonderful human beings! Sincerely, Alecia C. 🤩🙌❤️

I’ve been a loyal customer at America’s Best for years, but after this experience, I don’t plan on returning. I’m not typically one to leave complaints or negative reviews, which makes this situation even more disappointing. On 03/11, my husband and I ordered four pairs of glasses—two for him, and one pair of glasses plus sunglasses for me. During the appointment, Teri was very pushy about upgrading to polycarbonate lenses. Even after I clearly stated multiple times that I preferred standard plastic lenses (and was okay with how they fit my wire frames), the upselling continued until I eventually gave in just to move things along. We live over an hour away, so we chose to have our order shipped. However, Teri had already completed and closed my husband’s transaction before mentioning the shipping option, so she added everything under my account instead and noted to hold his glasses until all four pairs were ready to ship together. We were told to expect everything around March 24th. My husband’s glasses arrived late on March 26th—separately, which already contradicted what we were told. When I called on March 30th to check on my order, I was told there was a delay, but that my sunglasses were ready. Since we were coming into town the next day, we picked those up on March 31st. At that time, I was told my remaining glasses should arrive by April 1st and that I’d receive a call. I never received any call. On April 6th, I called again and was told they didn’t have my glasses and weren’t sure where they were. I was promised a call back after someone checked with a supervisor. No one called. I followed up again on April 8th and was told the same thing—and again, no follow-up. Finally, on April 10th, I called once more and was told a supervisor would be in later and would call me back. That never happened either, so I called again that afternoon and asked directly to speak with a supervisor. After being on hold for about 10 minutes, the supervisor checked in the back and found my glasses within minutes—apparently they had been there for some time. At this point, it has been nearly a full month since we placed our order, which is completely unacceptable. He explained the confusion may have been due to a note about holding the order until everything arrived, but that didn’t even happen, as items had already been given or shipped separately. He said he would ship my glasses out the next morning. At that point, I was extremely frustrated—not just with the delays, but with the lack of communication and repeated failure to follow through. I contacted customer care to file a complaint and ask about compensation. After speaking with the store, they offered me a free eyeglass case (valued at $10) as the only resolution. After years of being a customer, this experience was incredibly disappointing. Poor communication, disorganization, and lack of accountability made what should have been a simple process unnecessarily stressful. It’s pretty upsetting that I had to call 4 times in 1 week with zero follow-up from staff.

I had an appointment in December. The eye doctor was great! It’s the other supporting staff who is not so great. Be prepared to wait 3 weeks to get your trials. If you call to check on the status the supporting staff is very rude as if you ruined their day just by asking. Then if you ever call them to get a copy of your prescription you will be left on “hold” or just forgotten about because they don’t seem to want to give it to you.
