The optometrist is wonderful, but unfortunately my experience with the office staff has been consistently disappointing. Today, I spent 35 minutes on the phone just trying to order my contact lenses. After the phone rang for about a minute, someone finally answered. The technician asked how she could help, and when I explained that I was calling to order contacts, she put me on hold without saying anything. After waiting another 15 minutes, she came back on the line and asked if anyone had helped me. I said no and explained again that I needed to order contacts, only to be placed on hold a second time. When I came in to pick up my contacts, I had already called ahead to let the office know I was coming. Instead of a simple pickup, I was told, “I’m just a technician. We’re short-staffed, so you’re going to have to wait.” While I understand that staffing shortages happen, the response came across as dismissive and unprofessional. I’ve now been in the office for over 40 minutes waiting to pick up something that should have taken only a few minutes. The only positive part of my experience was the last staff member I spoke with, who was kind, helpful, and professional. The doctor provides excellent care, but the customer service from much of the office staff needs significant improvement. Better communication, courtesy, and respect for patients’ time would make a huge difference.
I've used several locations in the area and this one wins for unprofessional employees. I'd give zero stars if it would let me. Do not take your children there. Do not go there for contacts. The rude employee who separated me from my minor child for his contact "class" gave almost zero instruction and then acted as if she wanted to fight me when I brought it up to the manager. She told my teenager to wash his hands, which he did. She then told him which lens was left and right, what it looked like right side out as opposed to inside out, and informed him that he had 30 minutes to get them in and out 3 times or he'd fail and have to come back. That was the entirety of the instruction. She simply stared at him as he struggled until he gave up and asked to be done. It is an open air space and I heard every disappointing word said - and not said. The experience was so bad that my son doesn't even want contacts anymore. I have submitted a full account to corporate and hope to get more cooperation than I did in the store.
Shelby made this establishment a worthwhile destination. He warmly welcomed me, greeted me, and promptly assisted me as soon as I entered. He demonstrated patience while aiding me in selecting a potential new pair of frames. I can not comment on the female employees as I did not have significant interactions with them, nor did they attempt to engage or interact with me.
I saw a deal online that seemed like bs. Turned out to be super expensive like unrealistically expensive, so easy I said no and just paid for the exam. The guy that took care of me, older gentleman, then proceeded to throw down the glasses first after I told him never mind to the contacts and eyeglasses, then when I was about to leave threw them down again. Like chucked them in such a rude way. Then proceeded to say “well good luck with that prescription then.” This place is ridiculous. Y'all be lucky my father wasn’t there. Will be contacting higher management.
