America’s Best Optometrist

Today 4/17/26- I had an appointment with the Americas best in Hampton Va at coliseum crossing. I had been waiting a month and a half for this appointment I get to the appointment and they don’t have an onsite doctor which I explained to the rep when I scheduled the appointment I need a doctor to sign off on some paperwork I have and was assured that it can be done. Why would she schedule me an appointment when that site doesn’t even have an onsite optometrist is BEYOND unsatisfactory. Also Americas best advertising walk in appointment so I got to the Americas best on Jefferson Ave in Hampton. I get there the. Office rep said if th 10:30 doesn’t show we can slot you in. It’s 10:40. I got back to the desk and told I cannot be seen until 2:30 even thought the10:30 did not show up. UNPROFFESIONAL to say the least. Then the office manager comes over and basically says the doctor can’t do it but no one even talked to the doctor to ask if I could be squeezed in. And then offered me a discount. I DO NOT WANT A DISCOUNT. I wat to know why I arrived at 10:15, told to wait til 10:30. And now at 10:55 saying I cannot be seen. I will NEVER go to Americas best again and I will try to seek legal action against them for false advertising. This is just another business that has gone down the drain. They do not do their jobs properly and it’s very unprofessional and unsatisfactory if I could give them no stars I would.

Made a DMV eye exam. Just to get to my appt and they have to reschedule due to not having an onsite MD. What got me was they knew i was coming for a specific eye exam and knew it needed to be signed. Why didn’t they just reschedule when a doctor would be in house. A waste of my day..

Jake was the BEST!! He explained things in such detail that helped me understand. I now know what my prescription actually means. I never knew before. I will define come back and see him to get my husbands glasses. He is a gem-keep him!! Thank you Jake for just being you.

I got a same day appointment for my daughter to get contacts for the first time. Everyone was kind, but Natalie outdid herself. She was friendly and patient and calmly coached my daughter through how to put in and take out her new contact lenses. Never impatient, always encouraging and when my daughter was just about to get overwhelmed, had no problem letting me take her for a quick walk and sit down and try again. The next time my daughter was approaching the same point, she caught it before I did and suggested a walking break before we tried to take out her new contacts. She went above and beyond to make sure my daughter was safe and knowledgeable and didn't have any more questions before we left. Brilliant job and awesome customer service skills!
